I feel anxious for no reason

Featured Replies

I have these days where I just feel anxious and stressed then I ask myself why am I stressed? And there's no reason. There's nothing coming up or anything that happened. It's just a bad feeling and I don't know how to explain it. And realizing that doesn't stop it either... the feeling continues.

Sometimes I have nights where I wake up in the middle of the night. That kind of half awake / half sleeping mode and I'm just anxious and stressed as hell. Like it's so bad. And your brains not really functioning right either so it takes me longer to realize there's nothing be worried about at that moment and I have to lay there calming myself down before I can fall back asleep.

Today for example, I woke up in the morning fine. And over the last 5 hours it has set on. And I just feel crap and I have no idea why. So anxious and stressed. It's like a weight on my head. It's at the point where you know when you're nervous and you feel like puking? Yeah that's how I feel right now.

Does anyone else get this feeling or know how to deal with it?

Oh man, I feel like this quite a lot. Especially that waking up in the middle of the night thing. I have yet to find out how to deal with it though. ugh.

If you mean there's literally nothing really happening right now for you or it feels like that, that can cause anxiety. Being straight down the line content, not feeling either depressed or overjoyed at different points, that can cause a strange kind of emptiness and you can feel a bit lost.

The answer to this? Magic 8-ball.

Not really. Everything seems to be going good. Life doesn't feel empty.

I'm actually looking forward to a good night tonight.

Normally I'd be excited, today I feel shit.

Ending sentences with ?! tends to cause a panic attack?!!??! :wreck:

Feel better now.

Guess I just gotta keep my mind off it.

Could it be that you have problems with your back?

Last year I had several dilocated vertebrae and I didn't feel any pain in my back but I was feeling dizzy, weird and sick from time to time. I couldn't sleep, I had no appetite.

But it wasn't constantly like this, only from time to time and then it came in shorter intervals.

In the end I almost had a gastric ulcer and lost 8kg of weight.

Then it was found out that it was dislocated vertebrae causing all these discomforts!!

Hope you'll be feeling better soon!

Hmm... I don't know.

I don't think I've done anything to it but I will keep an eye out for that now that you've mentioned it.

The cure is to Party! :vuvuzela:

Or, make sure you're getting plenty of exercise in a non-structured way (another words, just go have some fun!). Felt that way yesterday, just panicky about nothing worth panicking over, and in the end, it just took some exercise and relaxation to do the trick. Listening to uplifting music, that can help let down the stress levels, and increase happiness levels!

Lots of things can be playing on our minds, sometimes that's all it is, sometimes it's something else (like the dislocated vertebra), but usually ya just needs a break and go do something fun, no stings attached. ;)

I hate it when that happens!

I do this at work, when it goes too quiet, I get anxious for the flood of crap which hits the office currently being guarded by the SAS Monkey

I've had anxiety attacks for about a year now and I still don't know how to deal with them. I'm trying to keep focused when it happens and I'm telling myself it's gonna be better after a while. Keep your mind off it if you can. If it doesn't work, it would be good to speak to someone about it in "real life".
