So, what happened to giving money from the sale to charity?

Any other sites I should inform fans about this, only used to coldplaying.com

I'll post it to the FB groups for you :D

k I'll tweet it as well :p

I'm really shocked to see you (and possibly others) promoting this for the seller across the internet, so he can get more for it (especially considering the point I've already made).

A brand new member without any previous posting history comes on here, makes multiple threads initially about selling the same item (nice though it is, if genuine*), posts about donating to charity and then drops the subject, starts talking about what a nice luxury trip he hopes to get, and then other members start doing promotional work across the web to raise the price for him?

WTF?!!!

* I have no idea about this, so I'm just saying.

£500.00?? the man is crazy.

Seriously you could get concert tickets for you and like 8 of your friends with that money. Afterall it's just a piece of paper.

He DOES still plan to donate to charity:

Which is why I am selling it as I know it will now have more value to one of you guys....

Havent started bidding as high £500 min. 50% of anything over £500 will go to Leukaemia Research as I am running the great north run for them in Sept

Thanks, and apologies on that point to John. I missed that post - although I had thought I'd looked very carefully. I'd edit my own post to reflect that, but you've quoted it.

I still don't like this, not one bit:

1) Where's the guarantee of that happening?

2) Members here working to try to up the price for anyone, let alone a brand new poster that no-one knows. A full, guaranteed, charity auction, certainly - of course! But this site has never been about others working to up a price for any sort of personal profit as far as I remember.

I won't come back to this thread, probably - I have very little time to post on here at all. If John can satisfy my serious concerns he can get in touch via PM and I will of course come back and post that I was wrong. In the meantime, I'm happy to be better safe than very sorry.

Hi Tonsu, I will pop you a PM.

This is my virginmoneygiving site that I am raising for, just started in earnst to raise. I am raising some money for Vegas and some to ease the amount I have to ask my friends for due to me planning to run the London Marathon next year. (I'll need more help then!)

I would rather you guys know this isnt a phoney bid.

I looked at getting Authentication as suggested, however a specialist at http://www.memorabilia-uk.co.uk said that no company can 100% guarantee an autograph they havent witnessed. Some companies will take money off you to give you a 'certificate' but they are not always correct.

Your story is the main thing that validates the item and I have full background on this.

Considering this is the main Coldplay fansite, I'm sure someone close to the band would have read this and banned me/ advised eBay if it was fake.

Hope that helps...:)

^^^ I don't know what you're talking about really; I saw that it was for charity and wanted to help as it was for a worthy cause. John asked where else he could post it and I added it to two coldplay FB groups and twitter so yes WTF !!!!!!!!.

And.........

Just found a link from ColdPlayGround 9 years ago when I thought about selling it. (Yes my email was 'coolginger'2000 *check my hair colour from the fundraising site* and yes it was almost as rubbish a nickname as 'statmanjohn'!)

John

and my username was SoundGeezer_2001? What was I thinking when I thought of that name....?

Think it may be around the time that Jamie Oliver was popular with his 'pukka' this and 'geezer' that :)
