Isn't it great that so many years after they've been around, Radiohead keep getting responses like this from people all the time?!! :shocked2:

 

I would have been telling the exact same story one year ago! And it's a typical RH story in this thread - finally discovering Radiohead after years and years and not getting enough of them. Once the understanding comes, it all comes in a rush... there's no stopping it. I couldn't handle Radiohead for the longest time, but once I 'got' them, I was totally floored.

 

That was me about 4 or 5 months ago. I had listened to them before, but I just didn't get it. Thought it was weird and a bit boring, nice for other people, but not me. Then I was listening to a streaming radio station, and heard a live version of Street Spirit. About half-way through the song, it just popped. I couldn't believe it... It was so weird, like one of those magic eye puzzles... all of a sudden I was hearing something totally different than I had been.

 

I decided to give some of their other stuff a second chance... found some concert recordings on here. Just couldn't get most of it. Then all of a sudden on a second or third listen, Lucky 'popped' even more dramatically. Other songs soon followed.

 

Now I'm hooked. ;)

Just got home from a David Gilmour concert. This was the second time i saw him this year and it was the best concert in my life.

His voice, his guitar and the lightshow......no one can top that!! IMO

 

The next band i want to see is of course Radiohead.......

Yep, Pink Floyd were/still are great. I haven't actually heard much of Gilmour, but I'm definitely planning to.

Hmm everyone seems to be telling their radiohead-first love times here so i will go ahead as well :lol:

 

Well,i guess i first got into them when i saw the videos for 'Just' and 'Street spirit' around last year summer/spring time, then i purchased 'The bends' around september time. Next i borrowed 'Ok computer' from my uncle, who already had it in his record collection, i loved that too. And it went on from there really, i just bought each record as i could. Erm i dont know i just found it so enriching and different from anything i had heard before in my young musical life! :laugh4:

Depends on how long it will take before they finish the album, though I think it will go pretty smoothly now they had many months to try-out the material.

 

I'm sure they will tour next year, though I don't think they will announce new live dates before the start of 2007.

 

I heard rumours Thom might do a smallscale solo tour though....
