Does listening to too much music make you crazy and will turn you into a hobo?

Featured Replies

Well cause my dad thinks so and to top it off: He thinks I won't make something of myself, says that I'm not like the normal kids he sees and that I'll wind up stupid and homeless

Depends which music, of course.

Listen to an excessive amount of Gaga or Bieber, of course, and you're doomed!

Listen to copious amounts of Coldplay, on the other hand, and the world's your oyster!:smug:

 thanks for caring? It's not the music, it's the amount of music I listen to and the fact that he's calling a loser.

Just tell him you're going to party and get drunk 5 times a week instead of listening to music and he'll be fine with you listening to so much music

well no offense but I think your dad is an idiot to think you are a loser for listening to too much music. You should be able to like whatever you like without judgement from others. And music is a great thing on many levels for various people. Perhaps he just doesn't understand the importance music has on your life.

I have no clue how in the world listening to music will turn you into a hobo. Music is inspiring! It has been for hundreds of years! Music will never deprive anyone from being successful. I'm sure you will be incredible in whatever profession you choose. :)

Nobody's a loser, especially you. I have ALOT of free time since I'm a social outcast so 18 hours a day it's all about: yardwork, Coldplay, Computer, piano

Yeah! No prob! I'm in a similar situation. My aunt is trying to talk me out of studying literature, history, and film in college.

How come?:(

I don't know what you mean by that

well then be the one to make the change. if you're dissatisfied with your life or situation then be the one to change things and make your life to what you want it to be. From personal experience things pretty much never happen on their own, you have to be the one to make the changes. So don't wait around thinking things will change on their own

I'm not popular, I come off to people as crazy so I don't have that any friends. But the friends that I do have have better things to do then to hang out with me.

What? And your doing film? We need to hang out :awesome: and good for you!

The Asian dad thing: Asian parents are usually VERY strict. My dad just happens to fall under that stereotype. Also I understand what your saying. I live by that philosophy but keep in mind im 15. Like I told Annie: Fake It Till I Make It.

I think I do things with people at most 5 times a year.
