OOOH GOOD ONE MAN, I BET THAT PIERCED HER SOUL

Considering it's Lore's thread and you hijacked it, I'd say that she can in fact ask you not to post here.

Unless somebody informs me otherwise, nobody owns any threads on here, so I don't believe she has any right to. It was clearly a public discussion.:dozey:

Did you not even look at the post Alexa was quoting? (That's yours, in case you didn't notice). You're talking about fashion. Please explain how that has any relevance to the original topic, and do it without pointing the finger at other people.

I was simply responding to the previous post, which contained a link to Gwyneth's "Goop" site, implying she was "hated" because of it. I was therefore entitled to respond to it, as far as I'm aware.:dozey:

Here you go Gumbo, you're gonna need it.

OOOH GOOD ONE MAN, I BET THAT PIERCED HER SOUL

Oh man, it sure did. I'm bleeding and crying all over my keyboard, oh the pain!

And Mark, let me show you your first 3 posts in this thread. Maybe, JUST MAYBE, you'll realize what pisses us off about your comments.

It's ridiculous to hate someone just for having a business or fashion range or something like that.:dozey:

Same here. In fact, I'll be at a concert with one of them on Monday!

Really? Which one?

It's great when that happens. I now have several friends I've met through here, or whom I've found out happened to be on here after meeting them at gigs.

Now, why don't we read the original post of this thread?

So I'll post this here, there's no point in sending a PM when is an issue that directly or indirectly involves lots of people here.

As a cping member, I'd like to know what's happening for one mainly reason: I have friends here and I talk to lots of people around the forum and if someone turns out to be "dangerous" I'd like to know it. I exchanged lots of pm's and some emails with kels or whoever who used that account and it's freaking me out to think that she was another person (I can't imagine how that could be for someone who actually thought he had a relationship with this fake person).

Of course there's a chance all of this isn't true, but I'm posting this considering the info we have.

Also if you ban people maybe you should post the reasons because I'm sure you have a reason and it'd make things more clear. I hate all the secrecy around here. It doesn't take longer than 1 minute to write a reply such as "nick was lying" or "his account was hacked", "the police is involved and we can't talk about this anymore" etc.

Because from the mods posts it just looks like you (as a board) just want to get rid of this issue just in case the problem gets bigger.

And another reason to keep discussing this it's simple: it's a good lesson for most of the people here (and basic internet behavior), don't trust people that much because you never know what could happen. We've seen lots of weirdos around. And now that Coldplay is releasing an album and lots of people are already joining to the site, it's important to be careful. (of course a "don't send money to any cper member" response is not enough)

Please don't take this as something personal or aimed to any of you mods/admins. Some of you are people I consider my friends and this is not anything against any of you. I just think the whole issue is important and just closing the threads/banning people is not enough, and all the members here deserve to know what's happening.

Gee, I don't see a single thing there about meeting members of the board or fashion! What a surprise!

That's all pretty irrelevant as threads in The Lounge (and even in other forums) go off-topic all the time, and I don't think there's any rule that actually forbids it.

Furthermore, although I don't deny having participated in it, I wasn't actually responsible for the thread doing it, so I have no idea why I should be singled out for that.:dozey:

In fact, I think you'll see all of my comments were in response to other people's posts.;)

Last, but not least, I think the original discussion had pretty much petered out, anyway.

My comment was in direct response to what I regarded as a superior tone being adopted by her, in accusing me of using one. Therefore I regarded it as hypocritical. You can't have it both ways.

Say WHAT?

I know I said a lot of things, but that definitely wasn't one of them. I don't see how me pointing out things that you have done equates to accusing you of adopting a "superior tone," whatever the hell that means. I don't even see how you can make an assumption of that sort purely based on what I said. It's obvious you didn't pay sufficient attention to much of anything I've tried to say. I don't know why I even try, given I already know you won't listen. If you hear anything that you don't like, you dismiss it as something juvenile, rude, or irrelevant.

If you REALLY want to know the definition of a post with a superior tone, look at your huge multi-quote post to Christina with wink smileys posted after almost every reply. The content of your message made your "points" clear enough. The use of your smileys are snide, rude, and unnecessary.

I could say exactly the same to you, so that clearly isn't going to get us anywhere. I suggested a solution that could be used if people were willing to, instead of getting "personal" in public.

I disagree, and could easily source countless comments to back this up.

Actually, no you can't, because I never said anything about confining conversations to PMs. As I have clearly shown in this thread, I have no problem talking in public about any qualms I have with people. I'd prefer not to, but as I mentioned, I felt the need to say these things after having kept quiet about it for almost 2 1/2 years and after much observation on much of the things that have happened here. At any rate, once again, you make no sense.

If you can back up your comments with evidence, then by all means, do it. In a discussion like this, you can't seriously expect to make comments like that without any sort of proof.

THEN WHY

DO YOU ALWAYS

AND BRING UP

THAT THREADS ARE OFF-TOPIC?

I'm sick of you Mark, learn to actually use your brain for once when you're talking to people.

OH MY GOD THANK YOU CRESTS

You summed up what I've been trying to say the past 10 minutes.

I know I said a lot of things, but that definitely wasn't one of them.

It was clearly implied, then.

I think that's exaggerating somewhat, but seeing as they appear to bother you so much, I've now removed them. Satisfied?

It wouldn't achieve anything, and would probably contravene board rules in some way by "inflaming" things. I'm amazed you don't remember any of it, but you'll just have to take my word for it.

What's happened in the past should stay there, anyway, as it isn't relevant to anything that's happening now.

It should be possible to move on and let bygones be bygones.

Also, please don't ignore valid points and just pick one thing out of a whole paragraph completely unrelated to respond to, you just look like someone who is too afraid to admit that's what being said is right and you're losing and feels compelled to respond with something because you don't want to "lose". Stop clutching at straws.

You're like an 8 year old, just grow up and actually discuss things like a mature adult, okay?

Cresty I love you :dazzled:

Maybe that's true, but you didn't post a SINGLE thing in this thread relevant to the original topic. At least the rest of us were trying to stay on topic, then it evolved to off topic. You just barged right in and went in a completely different direction.

THEN WHY

DO YOU ALWAYS

AND BRING UP

THAT THREADS ARE OFF-TOPIC?

Bingo.

It was clearly implied, then.

I'm pretty sure if it were that "clearly implied," more people would have noticed it. However, it seems you're the only one who sees it that way. I wonder why...?

Um, no, it's not. It's not the smileys that were that bothersome, so much as how they were used and what they themselves implied in terms of their usage. You simply removing smileys from a post doesn't change the fact that they were there at one point, nor does it remove the intent that you had when you used them.

See, I knew you were going to use some sort of excuse, because you rarely prove any point you try to make. Others have proved their points; you should be able to as well. Your word is hardly sufficient enough to bolster anything. Oh, and questioning my memory by claiming I don't remember anything doesn't help your case at all.

Hehe, he hasn't responded to us.

And none of what you have just said helps yours, either, as it's clearly just dismissive and refusing to concede any ground whatsoever. No points have been "proved", however you might want to dress it up.

Continually saying things like that doesn't make it any more correct.

If you ever feel like discussing things in a reasonable manner without trying to take the "moral high ground", please feel free to PM me.

Otherwise, I see no point in trying to discuss anything with you further, as it's obviously a waste of time.

Do you not see how civil Violet is being? And you can easily take the "moral high ground" and PM her too, nobody's making you respond here. ;)
