I think I did that once to you, or maybe someone else, but I'm sorry D: It's actually been a while since I last did it.

I don't think you did Alexa. And if you did then it didn't bother me. :P

I was thinking of someone else. :ninja:

Wat?

I copy and pasted it, it looks much better than I expected but I was too lazy to edit my reply, haha.

I'VE NEVER MET ANYONE FROM COLDPLAYING.

wait. except for members here i've met before they joined

OMG MY ENGLISH

What's Lady gaga got to do with this thread?

I'm lazy to quote bute uegdygf anyways the difference between Mark and Gena, is that she went to the thread, that wasn't an appreciation thread, and said .. well whatever, but it was towards Gwyneth. I would know, I did it with her.

And then people were mad at me, because I was saying bad things about Gwyneth Paltrow, by calling ME immature and stupid. Especially one member of the forum. So I said things back, and I think I was just saying how I can say whatever I want about Gwyneth, Gena I guess was calling names, but she didn't start it. Not towards members.

Mark on the other hand, first calls people stupid for liking Lady Gaga or Justin Bieber.

So no, Mark we don't agree.

What's Lady gaga got to do with this thread?

It was just used as an example of how Mark shows great dislike towards musicians other people like on the forum. And then in turn is somewhat nasty to the people on the forum...not hugely though, I'm sure most people on this forum are mature enough not to get bothered by petty remarks.

1. I wasn't talking to you.

2. I know they're married.. I don't understand why you'd think I don't. Or.. unless you mean that I'm tired of them being together? I don't really care about that.. really I just don't understand you.

3. This is how it started;

"Hey guys, this is freaking me out!! I read on imdb.com AGAIN today Chris and Gwyneth Paltrow are dating since they had been seen cuddling in London!! This can't be true, right?! I mean, there have been so many rumors all the time - why should we believe that now? But I've heard about that so many times now - it makes me insecure... :? What do you think? "

It didn't start with

"I just love Gwyneth Paltrow!!!!!!!11111111 lets make a thread and talk about herrr because she's relevantt!!!11"

I miss Gena

Yeah, some people don't like her but you have to get to know her.

Oh I do not know anything, they're celebrities. and made not as civilized people to a press release together have to say "yes we are still in love". yes all the celebrities as normal, but not let them run the rumors. it annoys all. because people are taken for stupid.

Another example

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3RSi4D7Liws]‪Gwyneth Paltrow & Chris Martin at 2011 Vanity Fair Oscar Party at Sunset Tower in West Hollywood‬‏ - YouTube[/ame]

Yeah, some people don't like her but you have to get to know her.

GENA is a person who says the things in face but never behind. So I deduced that it is a REAL PERSON NOT FALSE

she said some very hurtful to people. then yes is not acceptable in a forum. because respect tolerance and is more rigorous :\

oh god no i'm

i just don't understand

and I don't think you're the person to start an argument with, pretty much everything you're saying (of which i can.. sort of understand) has already been answered.

And I've had someone here tell me that because I listened to Muse my opinion was invalid. :|

when i started to listen them properly -no album released in a while- thread was dead and i didn't found posters there much nice, same with radiohead, that's why i hardly post in both threads. :| (may i simply didn't get their humour or something).

is stupid to think someone's opionion on some subject is invalid just for their musical taste.

I can honestly say that you've made many, many jokes that could be taken as nasty in response to people saying that they enjoy listening to Lady Gaga. So don't even start acting all superior.

And a lot of things have been said (and are still being said) to me by several people (including yourself), either explicitly or implicitly, on here, which could be taken as at least equally as nasty. Therefore I don't regard you as being in any position to lecture me.

If you had had an issue you wished to discuss it could easily have been sorted out amicably, via PM. I have stated this on numerous occasions in the past, and it still stands.

OK, Mark, here's why you have no credibility as far as this issue is concerned.

You have constantly name-called and made negative comments about Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber. (The one I always remember is you calling Gaga "Lady Gargoyle," often followed by one of those rolling eye smileys.) You say they're not even music. And yet, when anyone says anything that can even be remotely interpreted as insulting to Coldplay you play the "This is a Coldplay forum card" and act all like, "Oh no, you can't do that, Coldplay is different, OH THE HORROR." It's not different, Mark. This being a Coldplay forum is, as you often say, irrelevant. As long as people don't say anything distasteful, people can say whatever they want about anyone, including Coldplay. You can't have your cake and eat it, too.

The Coldplay topic was resolved some time ago. However, what is a "distasteful" or "insulting" comment is subjective, and I read a lot of comments made about Coldplay, Chris personally, or Gwyneth, which I (and I'm sure many other Coldplay fans on here) regard as "distasteful", and could easily be read by members of the band's "inner circle".

Some of these comments (which are clearly deemed not to have overstepped the mark as they haven't been removed) are made by people who seem to think they can lecture me in this regard, which is an absolute joke.

You can't have your cake and eat it too, either.:dozey:

^ Thank you for further validating my point.

If I ever talk about someone I don't like, I'll explain why (usually something along the lines of "I don't like his/her voice" or "It's not to my taste"), then leave it alone. I don't do what he does and make 12812371982 consecutive posts about the same thing.

That's clearly an exaggeration, and makes you come across as all "holier-than-thou" IMO, especially when you use words like "validating", which definitely comes across as superior.

exactly. I think it's disrespectful to the artist and the fans to continuously bash the artist.

I don't care if you don't like the same things that I do, but just say it once and let it be.

That's your opinion, of course, but if it is, you should also apply that to people you communicate with who seem to bash Coldplay (even if it's just to say they're boring or their music's dull) at every opportunity.

By your reckoning, none of these people should have repeated their opinions about Coldplay. They should have said it once, and then never again.

Anyway, I suggest you learn to ignore "jokes"/negative comments made about singers or bands you like, much as I now do regarding Coldplay. Then there isn't a problem.

I haven't reacted to anyone's criticism or p*ss-taking of Coldplay in quite some while now.

I have accepted that it's going to happen, even though I don't like it.

Yeah, some people don't like her but you have to get to know her.

You could say that about anyone, including me. Therefore you have to be consistent in such matters. I've met Gena, and I do like her.

However, I had already got on well with her by communicating with her on here and on Facebook, so I guess it followed on from here.

You can't really get to know someone unless you've had real-life contact with them, IMO, although generally I'd say that online "friendships" do tend to translate into real life.

That's because it is disrespectful. Continuously repeating needless comments about an artist you don't like to the fans of that artist makes you look like a snob. By doing that, you might as well be saying, "This artist is not up to my standards, and because you listen to this artist, you have inferior music tastes." That in itself is wrong, I might add. Music is subjective. Different people like different music for a reason.

Well that applies to Coldplay too, then.:dozey:

I'm lazy to quote bute uegdygf anyways the difference between Mark and Gena, is that she went to the thread, that wasn't an appreciation thread, and said .. well whatever, but it was towards Gwyneth. I would know, I did it with her.

In that case it is exactly the same. Whether it's comments made about Coldplay, Gwyneth, Gaga, Bieber, or any other performer, being insulted for making those comments is wrong, which is what I said in the first place. I might not have agreed with what Gena was saying about Gwyneth, but I wouldn't have attacked her because of it.

It was just used as an example of how Mark shows great dislike towards musicians other people like on the forum. And then in turn is somewhat nasty to the people on the forum...not hugely though, I'm sure most people on this forum are mature enough not to get bothered by petty remarks.

That's just about the most intelligent post I've read in relation to this topic, especially that last part.

All I will say is, that most of those accusing others of "nastiness" have been nasty themselves in one way or another, so are therefore in no position to point fingers.

As I said before, there are many that show a great dislike towards Coldplay on here, but of course, there's no reason for "fights" to break out in relation to any artist or topic, if everyone plays fairly.

If certain people want to keep making fun of Coldplay, then fine, but then the same should apply to anyone or anything else in the public eye.

Surely everyone can agree on this point, at least?

but basically calling her stupid and immature and jealouse. Which just isn't fair.

I agree, but this also relates to everything I've said on the matter. You should have the same regard for everyone in this respect. You have said a lot of things to me over time which have been equally "unfair".

Even Gena is aware of this. If you don't like me, then fine, but don't keep going on about it all the time.

There are many people on here I don't like, but I just don't bother communicating with them any more, as it's the best way.

If everyone did this, I think everything would be fine.;)

he's done that to other artists too, and the fans aswell (eg. some threads about musical genres such as punk and so).

honestly if i don't like an artist for whatever reason i don't bother myself in saying on their thread that the artist is awful and bla bla.

But as you are aware, I've also been unfairly personally attacked on many occasions, as have you, merely for disagreeing with someone.

I'm sure you agree there's no excuse for that.;)

Well that applies to Coldplay too, then.:dozey:

But Mark (and to anyone else on the forum) you should act mature enough not instigate incidents that could lead to a bigger argument (which annoyingly has happened more that once on this site). If you say something bad about someone in the public eye which someone on the board admires, be it Coldplay, Lady Gaga or anyone else ...well then you can't always expect them to sit back and take the shit. No matter how mature these people are the majority of the time.

And if you say things about, for example, Lady Gaga over and over. And you end up annoying someone, then what's stopping them from insulting an artist that you admire everytime you say something nasty. People can only ignore shit for so long.

Also remember that, there are so many members on this board who don't say shit about anyone in the public eye, including coldplay, the majority of the time. Why is our time wasted on the ones who do? -__-

Exactly that, thank you.

This applies to everyone on the board (equally) and there are rules now in place to stop things getting out of hand. You can't just single out any one person for this, just because you happen not to like them for whatever reason. That's clearly unfair.

Anyway, we've already covered most of this in relation to criticism of "artists". It works both ways, therefore it shouldn't be an issue any more. If people take the p*ss out of Coldplay, I ignore them. Others should act accordingly.

Also remember that, there are so many members on this board who don't say shit about anyone in the public eye, including coldplay, the majority of the time. Why is our time wasted on the ones who do? -__-

It's human nature. Some people do, and some don't. It's just a question of different personalities, that's all, and all should be accepted. Shows like "Mock The Week" and "Have I Got News For You" revolve around satirising people in the public eye all the time.

I guess you even love them or hate them, and in my case it's the former.;)

Also remember that people tend to conveniently ignore all the "positive" things that are said (e.g. in the "RIP Amy Winehouse" thread), and just concentrate on the "negative" ones. That's also disproportionate.

Yeah... but the hosts and guests on those shows are actually funny Mark.

(oh and I did try address that others on the forum "(and to anyone else on the forum)" the best I could in a reply to you )
