Ugh I hate when threads get closed and I'm posting a reply...

I met a CPer once. I won't say who, though, because I'm not sure if it's OK with that person for me to talk about it.

I see the person I've met every day during the school year :|

I've never met a coldplayer. Though I do talk sometimes to someone on here who lives pretty close to here. Like we could organise to meet in the city and both be there in 20 minutes or less. But we probably won't meet up soon.

Ha ha, she told you that was the reason!

Uh, no.

Amongst loads of other things which I don't care to search for at the moment, calling people "assholes" and saying "fuck off snobs", members of the community didn't appreciate that (and members reported it on several occasions).

Plus having multiple accounts (at least three I think?) is a violation of forum rules.

btw, the member/mod discussion is now open in the coldplaying.com section

Sorry but,I belive Gena. She has a reason of why she called those people ass holes, because when Gena told her opinion of how she didn't like Gwyneth (and note that it isn't the "Gwyneth Paltrow Appreciation Thread" and it started by rumors of if she and Chris were dating) they attacked her by calling her immature. Not just that word, but basically calling her stupid and immature and jealouse. Which just isn't fair.

But Gwyneth Paltrow is kind of a stuck-up...word. People should be allowed to say whatever they want about her. D:

This[/url] is where the hate comes from.

Be my fwiend<3

I got all the way to "get the scoop from GOOP" and I nearly vomited. :|

:| Simply expressing dislike for Goopy is completely different than incessantly bashing/belittling/name-calling the members here who don't dislike her (or members who make an even remotely negative comment about Mr. Paltrow).

imho... but again, I wasn't a mod at the time, I was just a fellow member

ZING. We have a winner.

I don't see how.:dozey:

Or any other person or subject, for that matter. I have always maintained that members should be able to express opinions (whether positive or negative) on any topic, without being bashed/belittled/name-called for them.

Once people start doing this (even in response to negative opinions made with regard to Coldplay or Gwyneth), they lose all credibility IMO.

Unfortunately, Gena (apparently) fell foul of this, and was punished (presumably for multiple violations).

I also trust that those who insulted and attacked Gena in response to any comments made by her were dealt with in a similar fashion. I can only assume that Gena was warned on more occasions than those who attacked her, as she was the only one (as far as I know) that was permanently banned in relation to that "conflict".

Having spoken to her about this, I don't think she's that bothered, anyway.;)

I know we don't agree on many things, but we do in relation to this, hence my comments above.;)

you're doing this with regard to gaga and beiber, so you also have lost your credibility in the first place. fact. lmao.

Please show me the last time I bashed/belittled/name-called anyone for liking Gaga or Bieber.:dozey:

It obviously can't have been recently, or I'm pretty sure I would have received a notification regarding it.

I admit that I have gone a bit far in supporting Coldplay in the past, and while it has since been made clear that the same rule applies to them as it does any other performer (and I don't dispute that), I still maintain that nobody should be surprised when users leap to Coldplay's defence on here, as without Coldplay, this message board wouldn't exist.

Nobody can dispute that.;)

I can honestly say that you've made many, many jokes that could be taken as nasty in response to people saying that they enjoy listening to Lady Gaga. So don't even start acting all superior.

OK, Mark, here's why you have no credibility as far as this issue is concerned.

You have constantly name-called and made negative comments about Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber. (The one I always remember is you calling Gaga "Lady Gargoyle," often followed by one of those rolling eye smileys.) You say they're not even music. And yet, when anyone says anything that can even be remotely interpreted as insulting to Coldplay you play the "This is a Coldplay forum card" and act all like, "Oh no, you can't do that, Coldplay is different, OH THE HORROR." It's not different, Mark. This being a Coldplay forum is, as you often say, irrelevant. As long as people don't say anything distasteful, people can say whatever they want about anyone, including Coldplay. You can't have your cake and eat it, too.

Violet, you're my hero. :dazzled:

he's done that to other artists too, and the fans aswell (eg. some threads about musical genres such as punk and so).

honestly if i don't like an artist for whatever reason i don't bother myself in saying on their thread that the artist is awful and bla bla.

^ Thank you for further validating my point.

If I ever talk about someone I don't like, I'll explain why (usually something along the lines of "I don't like his/her voice" or "It's not to my taste"), then leave it alone. I don't do what he does and make 12812371982 consecutive posts about the same thing.

exactly. I think it's disrespectful to the artist and the fans to continuously bash the artist.

I don't care if you don't like the same things that I do, but just say it once and let it be.

That's because it is disrespectful. Continuously repeating needless comments about an artist you don't like to the fans of that artist makes you look like a snob. By doing that, you might as well be saying, "This artist is not up to my standards, and because you listen to this artist, you have inferior music tastes." That in itself is wrong, I might add. Music is subjective. Different people like different music for a reason.

shut up violet, you like owl city therefore i can not take you seriously :phu:

^ Actually, I had someone from The National forum tell me that once. Oh, the LOLz.

And I've had someone here tell me that because I listened to Muse my opinion was invalid. :|

I think I did that once to you, or maybe someone else, but I'm sorry D: It's actually been a while since I last did it.

Oh the pretentiousness!

We should stop by their house and tattoo Adam Young's face onto their face.

:wtf:

That's...unusual. I couldn't be mean like that.

That's cause you listen to Coldplay. :phu:

I have no idea what I've been talking about here don't mind me. :|

I think it's cause I like dumb music guys, that's it. There's no hope for meeeeeeeeee!
