Coldplay new online shop

Featured Replies

So I just noticed they finally integrated the different online shops and now Coldplay has one official shop, where you can pick different currencies. I am very happy about this, but quickly became enraged when I saw that there are nearly three times as many t-shirts for men as there are for women! WTH??? I could understand if this was Metallica, but it´s Coldplay we are talking about. I don´t need a survey to surmise that there are probably more female than male Coldplay fans, or at the very least just as many.

On top of that, the running man t-shirt, which is just awesome, is , you guessed it, only available for men. I tried writing to the shop in the past to no avail, hence my rant on this forum. Am I the only one who thinks this is totally unfair??

All the men stuff is basically unisex, you know. It's just not fitted to a female frame.

I would NOT look flattering in any of the female shirts :laugh3:

Yeah, I also found out that the Fuzzy Man t-shirt was only for men which was quite annoying but men don't have some of the ladies shirts like the LiT one.

You've got more choice in the mens section, but it doesn't matter anyway, I'm a girl and I don't mind wearing a Coldplay t-shirt designed for men, as long as you can tell it's Coldplay!

I guess it´s unisex if you want to sleep in those t-shirts...a male small is roughly a female large, so I would not fit any of the male t-shirts at all, so they are definitely not unisex...I just can´t believe the incredible difference between the sexes. What´s up with that? Is it so hard to release a female and male version of each t-shirt? Other artists do it. And again this is Coldplay, not Metallica...

Good for you. You probably can fit the male sizes but a LOT of females do not, so too bad for the rest of us who actually would like, shockingly enough, a female fitted t-shirt of the running man...such audacity!

If you order something change the currency to $

€18 or $19,95 (which is €13,88)

Ah scratch what I said about the unified shop being a good idea...it turns out it is only U.S.-based, officially alienating all european/rest of the world fans. We now will have the pleasure to pay more for shipping and even pay import duty taxes. Those are pretty steep in my country, so I guess it´s farewell to official Coldplay merchandise for me. I hate Live Nation...

I never said I actually fit into the mens sizes, it's just that I don't mind wearing baggy t-shirts every once in a while...geez. :inquisitive:

Kudos to you for making this huge sacrifice in the name of Coldplay :) However my point is that you should not have to....

Try Amazon. They have everything that the online store has, pretty much.

There may be more selection, but the women's T's are a whole lot nicer than the men's. The ETIAW one is much better for the women's, and the Yes t-shirt rocks too. I think most of the men's shirts are boring, so it works itself out in my opinion.

I never understood why the Viva heart tee is in the Men's section. It's so feminine!

I'd still rock it though :P

I don't find that shirt feminine, and besides, it's the best one of the men's if you ask me.

Back when X&Y was released, there was a sh!tload of merchandise available for sale everywhere, but North America. They refused to special order the special items to the US or Canada (I asked), so I bought the stuff I wanted at inflated prices from EU sellers. I'm excited to see this change!

The fact that you had to import from the UK back then, is predictable as Coldplay are British...duh. Now that they are a HUGE act, they can't figure out how to provide merchandise to both sides of the Atlantic without turning their back on Europe? It's like saying Madonna has a store that only ships from the UK and Americans would have to pay huge money in order to import merchandise of an American artist! I just hope they take a look at their store and rectify this as it's not in good hands with Live Nation apparently.

The women's range is abysmal in comparison to the men's, but I agree that we do have pretty great designs. Annoying that pricing can't be done in Australian dollars also, but as long as they can still ship over here, I don't have much to complain about.

I'm just incredibly glad to see that they've finally put up a sizing chart. That was the one thing that completely irritated me about the previous store.

Yes I was surprised to see more men's than women's as well...

I think, when the album comes out or when the band starts touring, there will be more shirts. And they will have parts that glow in the dark. I hope.

Well this is only relevant to americans and non-americans willing to pay import duty taxes now....the rest of us must pick up whatever is available during the future tour...

Oh wow, it actually looks like they've brought back old stock too.

I agree though that the men's range seems a bit disproportionate, but maybe that's how they originally were. I mean, when the Viva range first came out a few days before a concert, the boys saw the shirts for the first time, decided they were crap, sent them all back to make new ones. They don't have too much control over merch.

The official merch store takes FOREVER to ship, too.

Damn you LiveNation.

I figured that out in '99, but thanks for bringing me into the loop.

As I had stated, I asked to pay extra to ship items here, but they refused.

My point is that it was pretty normal back then that you had problems importing Coldplay merchandise, but the current situation of europeans having to pay import taxes is absolutely unacceptable in my opinion.I am truly glad for you and all americans, but there is no reason why Coldplay should not have a U.K.-based store as well for european fans. A t-shirt would cost me more than double the retail price for me to import it, so I can only imagine a lot of people over here will choose only to shop what they want at the live shows. I encourage everyone from Europe to write to the store, letting them know they should change their policy.

I wanted the blue "jumping" tee shirt but since shipping is really slow I will hold off and buy an armload of stuff at the concert I will most certainly be attending!

Have you shopped there before? They seem to promise 1-2 day shipping so it should be fast to the USA anyway.

Most orders ship within 1-2 business days after the order is received. Items on back order will be shipped as soon as the item is in stock. Rest assured, we will let you know when an item is on back order.

Then I might go ahead and bite. That shirt is calling my name.
