Forty Two
I think the reason why Wedding Bells didn't make the cut is because the chords from the song were used for UFO. Watch this video: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oJB3t8O3wiY]Coldplay - Chris Marting singing Wedding Bells (unreleased/unfinished new song) - YouTube[/ame] and compare the guitar chords in the video and the beginning of UFO, you'll see what I mean. I love how Coldplay recycles songs. :D
fooby
Is wedding bells available? Just noticed it's not in my library.
LVI56
Defiantly noticed that on first listen, I just hope Wedding Bells creeps up somewhere later, either as a b-side or something. We know Chris worked for a while on that. Then again, Wedding Bells might turn into the "Bucket For A Crown" of MX.
shanew21
I hope it comes up on a B side

The Red Army
the long guitar version was the best IMO because it had the chorus one more time
golfing7861
So it was split into Christmas Lights and UFO?
AvR
So it was split into Christmas Lights and UFO? Sounds very likely.

golfing7861
Sounds very likely. I'd rather have one studio version of Wedding Bells than those two :(
JesseSleeP
I'd rather have one studio version of Wedding Bells than those two :( I think differently. Christmas Lights is BEAUTIFUL. It's a color I'd never seen before.

Connor!42!
lol, well hopefully this solves it. I hope another thread isn't made about whether Wedding Bells will be released :P
R0Y
I prefer the acoustic short version over the piano long version of this song. I don't care if it is incorporated into UFO! I WANT WEDDING BELLS!!!!

Lihyahm
I saw Chris say in an interview that UFO was the earliest song that made it to Mylo Xyloto and that he used the chord progression from it for many other songs because he liked it so much. Wedding Bells seems to be among those.
coldpatrix
UFO was originally completely different, longer than now and with the full band and strings, then it was reduced to an acoustic part and strings, then reduced again and cut-and-paste into another track (the final part of the song explains this). Anyway, UFO was Great Expectations before and Golden Arrow during the very first sessions...
Lihyahm
http://www.coldplaying.com/index.php?name=News&file=article&sid=7608 here Chris mentions that UFO was the first song written for this album and that he's reused the chord progression for other songs Wedding Bells is obviously one of those
