Featured Replies

Even though I listed a song by Nicola Roberts? ;)

The awesomeness of some of your songs balanced that one out.

also how is the new Grouper stuff? I adore Dragging a Dead Deer Up a Hill or whatever. is it similar?

A I A is more similar to Grouper's earlier records, like Cover the Windows and the Walls, than Dragging a Dead Deer Up a Hill.

That being said, I definitely recommend it. It's a great mix between her earlier stuff with the more acoustic-based newer stuff.

You do realize that this is for songs of 2011 right? None of the bolded songs should be listed.

So many ruless :(

ps. i tought this was another post --'

Uh...there's only one rule. And it's explained to you within the thread title itself. ;)

I like this idea! :awesome:

Selena Gomez - Love you Like a lovesong

There's actually a song called "Love You Like a Lovesong"? I feel that deserves song of the year from its idiotically brilliant name alone.

I don't think my brain is capable of ranking 50 songs

No, the song itself must have been released in 2011.

1. Jacques Greene - Another Girl

2. Burial, Four Tet & Thom Yorke - Ego

3. Drake - Marvins Room

4. Burial - Stolen Dog

5. The Weeknd - The Zone (ft. Drake)

6. 2562 - Aquatic Family Affair

7. Four Tet - Locked

8. Radiohead - Bloom

9. The Weeknd - The Morning

10. Brains - Sleep

are we limited to one song per artist? if so that's going to be a problem :P

  • Author

^ Nope, you can list more than one song per artist if you want

I should probably add that to the rules in the first post, just so everyone's clear on that.

Radiohead- The Butcher

Coldplay- Princess Of China

Snow Patrol- Called Out In The Dark

Death Cab For Cutie- St. Peter's Cathedral

Reeve Carney feat. Bono- Rise Above 1

Ohhh this sounds fun, I'll probably only make a top ten list just cause I don't think I can properly rank 50 songs

Okay, here we go:

1. Florence and the Machine - "Spectrum"

2. Fleet Foxes - "Grown Ocean"

3. PJ Harvey - "All and Everyone"

4. Wilco - "One Sunday Morning"

5. The Joy Formidable - "Whirring"

6. Bright Eyes - "Jejune Stars"

7. Florence and the Machine - "No Light, No Light"

8. The National - "Think You Can Wait"

9. Elbow - "Open Arms"

10. Radiohead - "Codex"

11. Bon Iver - "Holocene"

12. Beirut - "A Candle's Fire"

13. The Kills - "Future Starts Slow"

14. Friendly Fires - "Pull Me Back to Earth"

15. Lykke Li - "Jerome"

16. M83 - "Midnight City"

17. Florence and the Machine - "Seven Devils"

18. Feist - "The Undiscovered First"

19. The Decemberists - "This Is Why We Fight"

31. Kathryn Calder - "Who Are You?"

Modifications could still be made as those Black Keys and Snow Patrol albums are released.

Snow Patrol shouldn't be on anyone's list.

hey, i know what you're thinking, Hartroc.

wait til you hear 'Called Out in the Dark'

they brought their big boy pants for that album

powerful stuff

Corkus, nice list

which made me forget 2 of my fav this year

M83- 'Echoes Of Mine-

btw...seeing M83 on halloween.

Wilco- 'Art Of Almost'

Snow Patrol shouldn't be on anyone's list.

They still may or may not make the list, but what I've hard of the album thus far seems more promising than a recent effort by a certain other pop-rock act they frequently get compared to. (we can take it to the Snow Patrol thread if you would like to argue this further :P)
