At the 21-second Mark, does the Guitarist mis-pick the Guitar string?

Yeah, sounds like it. I imagine they left it in to make it sound more "real".

yeah he momentarily missed one of the strings with his left hand on the fretboard. love it.

 

 

They also keep the string squeaks. These are usually edited out but they left them in thank God.

I know nothing about guitar playing. I love those 'squeaks' but have no idea what causes them. Are they a result of sloppy playing or are they inevitable? And if they are just the nature of guitar playing, why are they usually edited out? Educate me, please. :)
