I saw this on a fan site for a different band, and I thought it would be cool if we tried it out!

So, if you choose to accept the challenge, here is your task:

Starting this monday, we'll assign a coldplay album to each day. Here's the order:

 

Monday--Parachutes

Tuesday--A Rush of Blood to the Head

Wednesday-- X&Y

Thursday--Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends

Friday--Mylo Xyloto

(This works perfectly with five albums!)

 

Each day, you must listen to the assigned album at least once all the way through. Then, for the rest of the day, the only music you're allowed to listen to is music from that given era (so b-sides are fair game). At the end of each day, notate your feelings/thoughts about said album (feel free to sound off about the current day on this thread). The music might even change your mood for that day, so note that down as well.

 

At the end of the week, we'll get on this thread and discuss whether or not our opinions changed about any of the albums, or were simply solidified. I'll post a poll to see if anybody's favorite album changed! EDIT: THE POLL HAS BEEN POSTED! PLEASE DON'T VOTE UNTIL THE END OF THE WEEK! (or whenever you finish the challenge.) :D

 

I know this challenge will be hard for me, because although I love coldplay, a whole week of just their music seems impossible...but I'm gonna give it try! :P

Sooo...in the spirit of the challenge kickoff on Monday, let's sound off about our favorite albums and why! I'll go first: I love Viva because it's the first one I ever listened to. I became a fan during that era! It has sentimental value.... :D

I'm game! Coldplay is all I listen to these days anyway. I'll push it a little further and even listen to the interviews of the band promoting the specific album of the day.

 

I like X&Y b/c Fix You is the track that got me to love the band. But deep down I think I like AROBTTH best. I just get transported to an other universe during Politik. LOL

My fav' album is AROBTTH because it's simply the best. :lol: No seriously, I love the ''rock'' sound they gave to that album it's just so pure and brilliant.

I can't chose between Viva and MX because the first one made me discover Coldplay and the other is the first one I waited for and their most electronic/experimental one :)
