September 29, 200916 yr ^Cool! Are you going, deaths_friend? yeah it will be my first and last big day out. the line ups get shitter and shitter every year. the second headliner on the line up is lily allen. so im looking forward to their sideshows alot more.
September 29, 200916 yr I thought the second headliner was powderfinger. Oh well. I'll go every year cos I just love festivals, regardless :)
September 29, 200916 yr ^^ the final two/three performances have always been from international acts. maybe they've gone against tradition and put an aussie band up there. im sure muse fans wouldnt mind a bit of the 'Finger
September 29, 200916 yr i will try and go to this. Ive never been before. Sounds like fun. Any advice for a first timer?
September 29, 200916 yr i will try and go to this. Ive never been before. Sounds like fun. Any advice for a first timer? +1! I have no idea how to handle 12 hours in a massive crowd, and not wanting to lose my place (assuming I get a good one.. :P)
September 29, 200916 yr I went last year for the first time. it's a whole day out, and you need to be prepared to wait half an hour in some instances or more to get front possies for bands.. its good fun and a great music atmosphere. but too many bogans :(
September 29, 200916 yr "bogan" is a very loose term. So I too could be a bogan with you, Escapist... :sneaky: So Alex, any pointers on what to wear/bring? I know it's ages away, but there's nothing like getting organised early... :P And to keep things a little more on-topic, here's a nice post the band put up on their official site: The band would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has bought The Resistance over the last two weeks. The official charts are still coming in, but so far it has reached the number 1 spot in 19 different countries plus the European chart, bringing that to a grand total of 20 number 1s! Not only this, but it also entered the Billboard chart in the USA at 3 and in Japan, Portugal and Spain at number 2. See you on the road...
September 29, 200916 yr for our international friends bogan=redneck=scouser BDO = Bogan's Day Out Haha... thanks for the translation.. I was wondering ;) EDIT: @Graceful: thanks for posting that message from Muse. Great to see the album doing so well... Glad it's at 3 here in the States!
September 29, 200916 yr ^ I know this is really random, but I just noticed you're from Texas, too. That's awesome. :nice:
September 29, 200916 yr ^:D yeah, I recognized your university a while ago... I'm in "The Music Capital of the World" ;)
September 29, 200916 yr Austin? Sweet. :D I think I've only been to Austin once, and I was young then (like 5, I think). I want to go to the ACL Festival one of these days. Austin's like, 6 hours away from here, though.
September 29, 200916 yr ACL's this weekend. I just found out a couple of weeks ago that Muse headlined one of the nights back in 2007. Of course, that was before I got into them. BUT, I did get to see Coldplay play ACL back in 2005. That's when I REALLY fell in love with them!
September 29, 200916 yr Yeah, a friend of mine went and told me all about what Muse did. I was really jealous. :laugh4: I'll have my time, though. :)
