Tom Kirk has just posted this on Muse`s Message board

Hi there. Hope things are going alright. We are presently awaiting test results and further medical counsel regarding Chris' injury. The band is also currently investigating other alternatives should Chris not be able to take to the stage this weekend for their headlining slot at the V2004 festival Chelmsford and Stafford. Thanks for all the messages of concern and support for Chris. We will post the latest developments on this matter as soon as we have it on muse.mu. Hang in there...

Cheers,

Tom

So keep fingers crossed that these test results are good, but if not they are looking for alternative things...like not turning up prob lol

MUSE BATTLE ON

Muse have said they’re “committed” to playing their summer festivals despite an injury to their bassist.

As revealed on NME.COM over the weekend, the band have been out in the US this month playing on The Cure’s Curiosa Tour. However, bassist Chris Wolstenholme injured himself while on the road, and they came back early, pulling the last three dates.

A question mark has hung over their V Festival appearance all weekend while Chris visited a specialist to find out the severity of his injuries.

The band have issued a statement to NME.COM this morning which says that whether or not he’s well enough to play, the band are looking at every option.

The statement reads: “As reported on various music websites over the weekend, bass player Chris Wolstenholme sustained an injury to his hand in a fall at the tail end of last week whilst on tour in the US.

”This meant that the band had to cut short their participation in Curiosa (the travelling festival helmed by The Cure) – of which they had been headlining the Second Stage.

”The touring party returned home on Saturday, and Chris and his management immediately sought medical advice on the injury.

”They are at present awaiting test results and further medical counsel regarding the injury. The band is also currently investigating other alternatives should Chris not be able to take to the stage this weekend for their headlining slot at the V Festival 2004 in Chelmsford and Stafford.

”Muse are committed to finding a way to complete their summer live schedule.”

Muse close the V Festival at Hylands Park and Weston Park in Stafford (August 21-22).

Whats oh dear about it? i think its great that they are commited to play it with or without Chris, it prob won`t be the same but im sure Matt and Dom will make sure to make it a great show :D

The 'ooh dear' was in a good way. Like 'thaaaaaaaanks dear'

Yeah, I must admit it surprised me a lot they decide to play without Chris. Any other band would cancel it if one of the members couldn't play
