MUSE @ Webster Hall, NYC~ 9 Nov 2004~ A Berry's Tale...

 

I was unable to log on here yesterday to tell you all my grand experience.. so unfortunately I had to share it with the 'other' board first.. but here it is! As you can see.. its a long ass post, so I just copied.. :wink3:

 

My fellow musers......

 

 

I have braved the cold and bitter streets on NYC, stood around for a 'total' of 8 hours, mmm maybe a bit less... (2 1/2 pre show-outside in the cold, 1 1/2 hours waiting for the freaking Zutons to do their crap, and then..... glory came on stage... yes... an 1 1/2 of MUSE!!!) Now I know what your thinking... "Camille..... thats only about 5 1/2 hours?? What do you mean???"

 

I'll tell ya what I mean! I hung around for approx. 2 hours after the show.. in 20F weather may I add... and.... and...................... and..... (in suspense yet kids?? :twisted: ) I MET THE LADS!!!! Yes.. well not exactly met and had a beer.. but we waited around long enough.. only like a handfull of fans... but despite all the 'club security' trying to shoo everyone away... I waited. Just as I was about to give up... my friend says to me... "look... the crowd is moving about" (Mind you it was a crowd if maybe 10-15 of us) and low and behold... there was Chris!!! I had seen him before the show.. but he was in a rush to get inside and he didnt stop to sign anything... but after the gig.... oh, there was little Dom... prompt and ready.. I asked him ever so kindly..."Dom.. will you do me the honors...." I handed him my OOS cd... and gladly he obliged..shook his hand and said "thanks.... great gig!" Next was Chris.. he was striking up a convo with some dude... a fan I suppose.. and I pardoned my excuse.. and asked him the same... "sure, he said not a problem... " My friend snapped a shot of us both with all my 'winter gear on' and he commented on my 'gear'... "Its a bit 'chill' out here to waiting around out here like this".. (as he chuckled) To which I replied the cheesiest line ever... "Aww man.. you lads are worth it.. !" He gave me hug... (a nice hug at that... :D ) and I said thanks again... I looked across the street... and there is this little crowd of "girly girls" in a huddle... I cant see whats going on so as I start to approach... someone breaks free from the 'huddle'... a small man in stature... with the cutest little "eskimo flappped" hat.. It was HIM... the man, the myth, the legend! The gremlin himself!!! Matt! :shock: I walked up to him as he was passing by... he didnt stop mind you so I had to walk with him... "oh Matt, please can you complete the set for me.... !" I asked... "oh well... if its to complete the set..." he single handedly de-caped my "Sharpie" and signed away.. Shook my hand... ( he also single handedly 're-capped' my marker as well *nods* and on his way he went... *sighs* I wanted so badly to take a piccie with him.. but I think those "teeny boppers" took too much of his precious time so.. he just wanted to get the hell out of there... that and the fact that it was fucking freezing! :shock: The show overall was a great experience.. a couple of people made comments on the sound... Webster Hall really isnt a "concert" venue kind of place.. so I kinda figured that... you could hardly make out Matt's vocals.. however when he played on the piano.. it was a bit more audible. I thought it was great though.. I was like the second person behind the barrier.. slightly to the left.. (In front of Matt :wink: ) and I took tons of piccies of the boys. I just dropped them off to be developed.. should be done by this weekend :? The 1 hr. machine was broken... :cry: I wont tell you or bore you with the Zutons.... that was the worst 45 mins & I'll never get that time back.. but it was worth sitting thru that for Muse. :wink: I hope all my piccies come out nice.. After this experience.. (which I know I will be repeating) I sooooooooooooo need a digital camera!! :lol: I made a few new 'muser pals' and we'll be swapping piccies as well.. 8) I had a blast everyone.. I got home finally at 330am.. needless to say... I took the day off from work to recooperate.. lol I still can't believe I got my cd signed... *screams like a little girl* It was a great night...one I'll never forget.. :cry: <-- tears of joy.
