Don't take my word on this, since I'm not an expert on music and stuff. I also suck at explaining things, but anyway . . .

 

I KIND OF hear the similarities, but only from a few songs from the Showbiz era, which remind me of Radiohead's earlier work. "Falling Down" and "Instant Messenger" (AKA "Pink Ego Box") give me a "Radiohead vibe".

 

I remember someone on this board mentioned that Radiohead's "Exit Music (for a Film)" sounds very Muse-y, especially when it builds up and takes off near the end.

 

And for those who are tired of the Muse and Radiohead comparisons . . . please don't kill me. :uhoh:

 

 

 

EDIT: Of course, there's also the fact that both Thom and Matt use falsetto.

 

But if I compare their current styles to each other (e.g., In Rainbows vs. The Resistance), I can't pinpoint any significant similarities.

^^ In the other day I was reading a portuguese music magazine and it had an article about Muse, and they mentioned that too... :thinking: I don't know if it is true or not, and if I agree or not...I don't know Radiohead that well, and I'm not a fan :)

I love both Muse and Radiohead, but I don't really think they sound alike. :\ Only Showbiz has a few Radiohead-ish vibes to it. Maybe that's just me. :shrug:

Btw, you Radiohead fans...:P Which song do you sugest me to listen? I've tried several times to listen to Radiohead, but I always find the songs to experimental :\ maybe I've been listening the wrong songs (I know...this is probably not the right thread :lol:)

Radiohead can be a little difficult to get into. For me, I had to really sit down and actually listen to their music before I started really liking them.

^ Yes, Karma Police was one of the first songs that got me into Radiohead. Also, Fake Plastic Trees and No Surprises. :wacky:

I think Muse and Radiohead have a lot in commom...Both Tom and Matt have a lot similarities and a certain 'creep' and 'genius' side, they both change their hairs a lot :laugh: they both play a lot falsettos, piano, guitar, their voice can reach high peaks easily. But the songs are not very similar, Radiohead its more 'downer' and kinda depressive and slower. Muse is more 'alive' and rage like, i would compare some muse songs with Linkin Park firsts songs...:lol:

Now i can say that i 'absorved' OoS, im in love with 9 of the 11 songs. But i still prefer the Showbiz type of music, like Darkshines in the OoS. Anyway, ill go listen to Absolution now.
