iMac vs Macbook Pro

Featured Replies

Well, I am considering getting a Macbook, but I can't decide between a 15" MBP or an 21" iMac

Which is better?

I have a 27" iMac and a 13" MacBook Air. It really depends on what you need it for. I prefer my iMac just because it's solid and it's a better deal, to be honest.

Get a plain windows laptop, much better value for money and less chance of it going walkies

Well what do you need it for?

If you're only ever gonna use it at home, an iMac might be better for you. It can still be nice to have a laptop though so you can move it around and use it in bed etc. but you might not need one if you already got an iPad which good enough for browsing the Internet.

I've owned several Windows laptops and they always fuck up. Every. Single. Time.

I think it's just people's preferences. I just have horrible luck with them.

My Dell laptop fucked up last year, but my newer HP one is amazing. much cheaper than a mac, too...

If I were to buy a PC, I would most definitely get an HP one. Their hardware is really nice.

I was thinking to get a Dell soon but after I read these posts....

Dell is probably fine if you buy an expensive model but the cheapish ones are shit shit shit shit

*is too broke to buy one of those expensive Dell models*

I think I'll get a new HP. My friends who are computer science majors once told me that new HPs are pretty good though.

I have a HP, one word of warning is that it comes with a shed-load of bloat-ware (the software which comes pre-installed on the computer when you buy it).

Out of those two, I would say iMac, but I`d rather a HP.

I love my studio Dell D:

I've got one of them now :awesome:

HP sounds like a good idea, i'll hunt around at the weekend :)

^ What did you decide to get?

I really want an iMac but I can't really justify buying one because I already have a laptop which works fine and I'm not working at the minute. Then again, I'll be spending loads of time writing essays in the next few months so it would probably be worth it.

If you're going to get a MBP, I would wait, they are meant to be releasing the completely new model around April or May, I'm holding off to buy a new one until then.
