I wish there was a better method of tallying up the results. It doesn't seem right to me that one song might be ranked above another just because it got more mentions. For example, the #23 song Ordinary Things had an average position of 2.5. Yet it still finished behind a song like Surgeon, only because the latter received more votes.

 

I'll be the first to let you know if I come up with an alternate method :awesome:

 

I could have used a more weighted points system (like this one), but I did that before for the albums of the decade, and it didn't make a huge difference. The ones with the most votes still tended to have the highest scores.

A lot of people were coldplay fans when they joined, but have discovered other music that they like more. There's no rule that says you have to leave this forum once you've grown out of coldplay. A lot of people stay because they've made friends here and there are good non-coldplay-related forums here like the WoM and Lounge.
