Coldplay leaving Parlophone?

Featured Replies

Unless I got false information, Coldplay signed on to Parlophone for a 5 album contract. Do you think they'll sign on for more albums with Parlophone or leave them?

I think none of us here has any piece of information about that, actually :|

It was a joke :disappointed:

didn't they sign a deal with island/universal?

Yeah, but they signed back in 2010

Really? I never saw any news on this.

I hope they quit working with any label and go on on their own. Just like Radiohead did.

God, I could swear I saw Oracle being asked about the label and contract thing... Apparently not

I was wondering this yesterday. There are benefits to both a record label and being independent, but seeing as EMI is essentially in the ground right now, I'd personally make like The Beatles and form my own label, they could even sign other band onto it. But I don't know. It really depends on how much money the band really has (a lot of bands break even). Like, can they afford marketing, CD releases, choirs, etc out of their own pockets?
