Coldplay Most Followed Band on Twitter

Featured Replies

Hi everyone!

Probably this is not even important for some of you but I was just having a lazy time at work and started checking internet sites and so I got to a page with the Top Twitter accounts and I found out Coldplay is #38, but then I noticed that all others above them are single pop or rap artists, or politicians, or so... there's no other band (of any kind) above them, not U2, Muse, Jonas Brothers, Black Eyed Peas, LMFAO, Radiohead, Killers, Arcade Fire, Keane or whatever... which means Coldplay is #1: the most followed band on Twitter, hahaha :P

What do you guys think about that?

I personally get so happy everytime that I know about my favorite band success (Awards-winning, Charts-toppers, Gigs-sold out, Album sales), and I say, hey! they're doing great!

But then sometimes... I remember when I was a Coldplay fan back on Parachutes/AROBTTH days, and I remember people thinking I was weird because nobody even knew about them (at least here in my country)... And, in some way I miss those days. I mean, I'm happy but their success, but somehow I preferred to be part of that special Audience they had before... :P

Well, i just wanted to share this. Anyways! I'm happy Coldplay is above every band on Twitter :D!

That's great! :D

I just can't help wondering what percentage of those followers are just people who have only heard 'Paradise' and 'Viva La Vida' etc... :\

Fucking sellouts. :veryangry2:

Fanboy pride. :dazzled:

I was just thinking about that.

Here's a little chart.

http://twittercounter.com/compare/coldplay/3month/followers#

Back in Dec. they had 5 mill, now they have 6 mill. So possibly, some of that is attributed to Paradise.

Looking at the rest of the list, I can't believe that Kim K has 14 mill followers.

What about Facebook?

They are the most followed or liked or +'d or whatever artist on Google+.

I was just thinking about that.

Holy crap they're like getting 10,000 new followers a day!

Awesome news! And on Facebook they are up there

on FB, you can click on "Likes" on the coldplay page to see stats... the new likes per week are in the 6-figure range! In the beginning of March they had around 270,000+ new likes A DAY. They're close to the 20M mark.

anytime coldplay is on top then it makes me happy! :D

I never used my twitter account until I became a Coldplay fan.

Yes... I actually know that many of those followers (probably half of them... I hope less than that)... are because of Viva La Vida or Paradise... and it would be better for me if they were because of Coldplay's entire work... but anyways, as I said, I'm happy every time they get to do something great, something huge, because they are a BIG band and I like to think that all of their success is just because of that :)

I hope that at least some of those people who fell in love with Viva La Vida or Paradise decide to listen to more of their music and discover the complete great band they are!!! Since Parachutes era and with all of their albums and singles and b-sides :)

:) ♥ Love Coldplay!

Saludos!!!

great! :wink3:
