Man, I'd LOVE a trip to London any day! I hope you enjoy your London trip!

Go to Greenwich Observatory. From the top of the hill from where it sits you get a beautiful view overlooking the city which probably betters that of Hampstead Heath.

And I agree - the Science Museum and the Natural History Museum are great as well. The Natural History Museum is a beautiful looking building in a lovely part of London (not too far from the Royal Albert Hall and foreign embassies) You see various dents in the walls in and around the streets round there caused by bombs and shrapnel dropped on the city by the Nazi's in World War II.

Oh and definitely take a look at St Pauls Cathedral. We didn't go in it (£25 entry!) but it's essential because it 's so iconic.

This thread keeps reminding me of this :freak:

Oh god! I want to know who came up with that advert!

Just seen that you're going to London during the Olympics. I got this email from TFL the other day, which might be of interest to you.

I am writing to remind you that there will be travel hotspots across London during the Games. Euston will be one of these and will be exceptionally busy, particularly from 0700 - 1030 throughout the summer.

Don’t get caught out

Up to one million extra visitors are expected every day at Games time. More of London will be affected than you think. The situation will change daily and often throughout the day. To avoid delay and disruption to your journey, you will need to plan ahead.

To plan your Games time journey and to see which stations will be busier, please visit tfl.gov.uk/2012planner

Explore your options

If your journey is short, you may find it quicker to walk or cycle. Please use Cycling Journey Planner on our website to help find the best route. Travel advice and walking maps will be handed out at Euston over the next few weeks.

For full details of all travel hotspots across London’s public transport and roads network and to explore your options, please visit getaheadofthegames.com

Yours sincerely,

I hate LONDON

It's crowded, it's expensive and people aren't particularly friendly.

I don't dislike London but I don't love it either. I'd love to move back to Liverpool but there's a lot more jobs here in London so I don't think I'll be leaving anytime soon.

yes, london is not my favorite place in all of the UK, but i cant not go on a yearly family trip. :\ it will be my first olympics, though, even if it is in crowded london. it wont be my first time there, either, and i will be staying with my cousins who know how to get around.

I wouldn't like to be at Heathrow airport the day after the games when the great exodus begins

I'm sure you'll have a great time, there's loads to do in London!

Just don't use the tube when it's particularly busy unless you absolutely have to.

Weather wise, it's very unpredictable at the moment

Some days it's nice and sunny, others it's cold and wet
