[HELP!] My Coldplay Wedding Project -

Featured Replies

Hello everybody! I am getting married in November and as a Coldplay super fan, I want to make something special with the music of the boys, as well as something different from every wedding here in Venezuela.

Therefore, I have made a small set-list of songs that will be featured during the party and I beg for your help in order to find the best live versions of the following songs (great sound quality) in order to play them at my event.

My set-list is the following:

Mylo Xyloto

Hurts Like Heaven

In My Place

Lovers In Japan

Yellow

Viva la Viva

Charlie Brown

Fix You

M.M.I.X.

Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall

Besides from the great live versions that you can provide, please let me know which song would you drop of the above mentioned set-list, since I am afraid it might be a little bit too long and I don't want to get the audience bored.

Finally, I would request any great props ideas you can have for any of the songs.

Thank you for all your help,

Best Regards,

Congratulations first!!! Your setlist looks like a small gig:D All the songs sound great in live version I think. But I don't know weather viva la vida is suitable for the theme-wedding.Though this song is my favorite live song.As for fix you,if all the guests can sing together to your wife,I think she will feel the strength of fix you.;) Now I even can image when you go on to fix you,I am about cry.

CONGRATULATIONS :) That's amazing that you want to make Coldplay apart of your wedding, I think I will do that when I get married someday :)

You want the best LIVE versions of those songs? I absolutely recommend the live version of Viva La Vida from Coldplay's LeftRightLeftRightLeft live album that was given out for free on the Viva tour, it's breath taking and so amazingly beautiful, gives me the chills every time.

As for the other songs, I'm not sure about any of the songs from Mylo Xyloto, but their is an amazing live version of In My Place on iTunes from the 2011 Glastonbury Music Festival, its a single on iTunes you can buy, that's pretty amazing :)

Congratulations mi amigo! Glad to see that you've incorporated Coldplay into your wedding, which is a big honor to them I assume!

When you want to find live versions, it really depends on both the performance of the song, and the crowd! If you want a big noisy crowd, or just a club setting... You might want to arrange the songs in the order you want the reception to flow, you may wanna start with something upbeat then go slow-dance, then end with a bang, it really depends on you!

Plus check the Glastonbury festival live versions, and for the MX songs, you may wanna browse the multimedia section? Good luck and congratulations again! :)

Thank you so much!

Note taken regarding the VLV version of LRLRL. I had already thought of that one.

I will check out the IMP version of Glastonbury 2011.

I do not mind that I can hear the crowd a little bit, since I think it is worth it to use live versions in some songs since they are more upbeat in their live versions, like for example, VLV and IMP, precisely.

I think I will be using MX, HLH, CB and ETIAW in their album versions since it is pretty much the same.

Awaiting for more comments and recommendations! THANKS!

Congrats!! ;) maybe you can use Yellow from Toronto 2006 concert or Glasto 2011. The crowd was amazing at the Glasto one.

Also Life is for living would be great idea for a weddıng ;) especially live from glasto 2011 ;)

I don't know about the live versions, but if you perhaps want to consider something more formal there are also the Vitamin String Quartet versions of some of the songs. I think they do a really good job with them.

Here's an example of Viva La Vida. :)
