My Christmas Poem (2012)

Featured Replies

I just went ahead and wrote my feelings mixed in with some Christmas theme. It barely rhymes, but oh well. :P

"Merry Christmas to the Beauty of a Lonesome Heart"

Decorate the tree of a thousand hearts.

Wrap up the gifts of life.

Feel the snow melt on your face.

Feel the love that's being replaced.

Don't leave me out in the cold forever.

I'll be buried in the snow.

Merry Christmas to my aching heart.

It doesn't give a gift, it'll just let it go.

A mistletoe could be so poisonous.

Then again, that drink of yours is also poisonous.

I can't kiss you under a mistletoe.

I can't kiss you over a drink.

A new year would only mean a new love.

A new love would only mean some more pain.

Some more pain would have nothing for me to gain.

There's nothing for me to gain, thanks to your loss.

Decorate the beauty of a lonesome heart.

Wrap up the light of my life.

Feel the snow melt on my face.

Know that they're the tears being replaced.

wow...goes straight to the heart that one!

It's great! But um...quite depressing... :(

Are you alright, Anthony? All your poems are about loneliness and broken hearts.

It's strange, really. When it comes to my lyric and poem writing, I always have something to say from the heart, rather than writing a story about something like what Rush does, and Rush is my favorite band.

As much as I'd like to say that I'm alright, I can only say that I'm feeling 50/50 about myself right now. I appreciate your concern, though. Some people need to realize that I'm just now getting through a dark time of my life, the darkest time yet, maybe. I've been really feeling depressed about somethings lately, which can relate to my loneliness. It leads up to my thoughts like, "Am I really that different from everyone else?" and "Is anyone willing to accept me for being that one person to stand out for the appropriate reasons?" That's what I've been thinking lately after knowing that the girl I like doesn't like me back, after all, since I told her how I felt. That's one of the many reasons why my poetry lately has been having such a dark feel to it lately, some of which are personal family issues that it's best for me to discuss in private although I can say that I'm not the only one experiencing it; it's a quiet pandemic in America right now, and it needs to be heard. However, I try to write more positive poems, but they only turn out to be themes featured in Rezzy Leon stories, the stories I write to keep my mind off of such negative thoughts and not only to try to make myself laugh, but to make my friends and family laugh, too, over a silly fictional story.

Just last week I started listening to Beck and found out about that the theme of his album Sea Change was about going through a break-up and being lonely, and I must say, I can relate to some of his songs on there. I can say the same about some Coldplay songs. I just want whoever reads my poems and Rezzy Leon stories to compare the two and see the different sides of me, and distinguish which pieces of literature are fact and fiction.

Hey Anthony!

Sorry about that! it's perfectly alright to be different from the others...it's our differences that make us interesting. The girl may not like you back but it doesn't mean that you should start feeling bad about being different....maybe it's for the best, only time will tell. Therefore like Mercutio in Romeo and Julliet I'll suggest that you "Dine your eyes to see other beauties". :laugh3: (<< alright, that was my flimsy attempt at livening up the mood)

maybe it's just a mood swing...don't worry...

Hey Anthony!

maybe it's just a mood swing...don't worry...

Oh gosh, mood swings?!

I hope I'm not bipolar! xD

oh come on! being bipolar only means that you'll be on both sides of the poles! :D

ok just kidding :p i get mood swings all the time, but i've learnt how to snap out of them. it's just like changing the channel on telly, you know.

I'm not sure I do advice, man to man, but all I will say is that girls are really not worth your bother, and that love's like a bird, in that if it's free and it comes to you, only then is it truly yours.
