I was just asking because if you tried to read it when you were 17 or 18 you'd have much less patience for the subject matter than you would when you're 23 or 24.

Well it's like you expect all people to be like this..... based on a Global Believe....

You mean I expect people to gain experience as they get older?

Uh, yeah, I do.

No, I din't meant that, but anyway.....

I understand what Richard is trying to say, because sometimes if you're mature, it may be easier to understand concepts or to be able to (I can't find the right word) assimilate to what you're reading.

I tried reading it like about a year or two ago (thanks! btw ;) )

It was because he likes to describe things a lot, and I wasn't into that.

I once tried reading American Psycho and I stopped reading it b/c of that. The main character in the book kept on describing things like the clothes he was wearing and I was like, I just don't care.

I'm sure the entire book was probably good after you had finished reading it.

Maybe I'll try again someday.

:D

There have been tons of books that I've started, were rumoured to be good, but then I couldn't get into them ...

... but almost any well thoguht of book which has had a slow start ended up being interesting once I persisted. I guess I just expect slow starts to books. There's so much exposition to establish.

The Perfume is a book that describes a lot the smells of things [how weird you might thing!] and it's an amazing book.............. I like books that desribe things, they sometimes write it in a very peculiar way

I guess it's good that author didn't do write a book called The Butt.

For some reason, I don't. I've only read tedious Astronomy books, that would kill anyone! But instead, I love when we have Astronomy in Physics, it's far the best they teach us!
