Coldplay "Viva La Vida" Era CDs, Vinyl Records, and Memorabilia Collectors' Thread

Know that there’s two different version of it. One with the Parlophone logo, and one without.

Ah I didn't know that. Just checked mine and it has the logo. Do you know if the one without is an early version, or was used on a different tour leg ?

Just bought on eBay for 20 bucks, sealed brand new. That was easy.

Also Rece I'll have you know, no one can ever top how sick your profile pic is lol.

Cool purchase...!

As for Rece, he had an adventure of a lifetime...! [emoji1303][emoji1303]

I believe the one with a logo is the European version. The one without is U.S.

Still very jealous of Rece.

Major Cooper- Are there any live DVDs of concerts from the VLV era that are available somewhere/you would recommend? I see the Chinese version you posted has "DVD" on one of them- is that just music videos or is it live footage?

Rece had an ultimate encounter with our band... And he played like a pro...! [emoji41][emoji1303]

As for the VLV CD/DVD, that specific one is still sealed. But now that you’ve asked, I am tempted to open it. [emoji4] I stepped out of the house for dinner, so I will browse through my VLV collection when I get home so I can provide some answers for us. I am under the impression that the DVD contains music videos of the specified tracks. There’s also a cd sized version of the CD/DVD, which is the Korean edition.

I appreciate it. I really wished they released a Live DVD/CD of X&Y and VLV era tours.

I could never understand why they never released a Live CD/DVD of the Viva era. I get that they weren't fond of X&Y and didn't want to release Toronto 2006 to the world, blah blah blah. But these two albums were their peak. Not saying their best albums, and they are still popular, but 2005-2009 was their peak. Would love some more behind the scenes from these two eras.

I really wish they had released an X&Y Era Live DVD, although I pesonally have to say their Toronto 2006 show is not one of my favourites and I think they could have recorded something better. But the X&Y Era was top of their game, live !! About Live 2009, they intended to make a DVD filmed in Barcelona (made by Done&Dusted, the same company that had shot Live 2003 and Toronto 2006) but I heard that sound issues were one of the reasons why it never got completed. Here is an excerpt:

EDIT: here is the official project page, still online:

Sweet! I've found them for less but they come and go very often!! Good job!

Haha thank you! It will probably keep that as my profile pictures for a looooooong time. Unless I can get an updated one [emoji6]

Okay, here’s our result... First, sorry it took a little longer to get back...

So the DVD disc to all versions are indeed the music video to all listed tracks. I also attached pictures of the CD/DVD releases from Argentina and Korea.

And yes, I do agree - It would have been great to have Live Concert DVDs, but not just one or two particular eras, I wouldn’t mind watching one from each... [emoji4]

Thanks.

Have you ever watched the promo DVD?

I still would've loved them to release the Barcelona DVD. The sound couldn't have been that bad...

Maybe in the future when the band look back at their career, there will be a compilation of concert videos throughout the years.

You are very welcome...!

This specific DVD, I haven’t watched yet.

As for their concerts, I do wish that they have more official releases...

Thank God for youtube and people who knows how to upload videos, we are able to at least explore and watch so many options...!
