Hello you Coldplayers. I'm one of the the new kids in town and was wondering if anyone could tell me whether I am the oldest person on here. I am 62.

I have been listening to the band since X and Y. I grew up listening to the Beatles and thought I would never hear that kind of innovation and originality again. Then Coldplay came along and I thought they were the best thing for decades.

Does anyone know if Keane are reforming? I heard a rumour they might be. The two bands know each other and I have missed Keane's melodic songs

I do a bit of recording in my spare time and have put together a cover version of Fix You. It took 40 hours to record all the instrument and vocal tracks. I would be interested in what people think. It's a bit 'churchy' in its sound but I thought it might be different from other covers I have heard. This is it:

Hi 9Sturdyboy, it is nice to see there are other older Coldplayers … Although I am still 15 years younger than you :)

Welcome. I'm middle of the pack age-wise (35), but when I first got into Coldplay my dad was your age and he always loved them when I would bring their CDs around or Live 2003 DVD. He felt the same way, that they had a sound that reminded him of the way he enjoyed bands in the 60s and 70s. He doesn't listen to music a lot these days but he did call me during their Super Bowl performance to tell me he was watching. :) Good music knows know age.

As for Keane, sadly I don't think they are reuniting anytime soon. They were my second favorite to Coldplay a long time and always one of my most special bands. Tom Chaplin seems pretty set on his solo career and there seems to be some awkwardness between him and Tim as far as if and how they would move forward with Keane. I really hope someday they do. I miss them terribly. Check out Tom's solo music if you haven't, though, and also Tim and Jesse's band Mt. Desolation will have a new album out early next year I believe.

Edit: I will be sure to check out your cover when I get a chance!

Thanks for the Keane info. You're right, emotional music passes all age barriers.
