while growing up did you go out and explore muic yourself or did you follow someone else?

 

i always listened to whatever my brother listened to. and it's still that way. i never liked what my sister was into, r&b and pop.

 

my brother got me into pretty much every band i've ever listened to.

 

and when i heard in my place on a tv show lastyear, he told me that it was coldplay and then i got into them.

i was rasied on punk and ska sadly

my parents raised me on the beatles, the beach boys, and for some reason, phil collins.

 

then i started liking my own stuff around when i was in 5th or 6th grade, and i went through my nirvana phase (which started probably a month after kurt cobain killed himself), my stereotype teenage metalhead phase, my classic rock phase...

MY FATHER RAISE ME LISTENING TO QUEEN, AND MORE QUEEN, AND QUEEN (OCASIONALLY SOME OTHER THING)

 

THEN WHEN I DISCOVERED COMMUNISM I STARTED TO LISTEN TO SINGERS FROM THE 70's WITH A POLITICAL MESSAGE

 

THEN I ADDED TO THAT U2, MY SISTER'S FAVOURITE BAND (WHICH I HAD TO HEAR 24/7)

 

ALSO SOME SILLIES SUMMER SONGS (BUT NO BAD!) 'CAUSE WELL I LOVE THE BEACH (BUT NOT THE EBACH WITH PALM TREES, HOT WATER AND SAND) AND WELL.... I JUST DID!

 

AND TO FINISH THAT, AND TO HAVE MY OWN MUSIC, I STARTED TO LISTEN TO RADIOHEAD, PINK FLOYD, COLDPLAY, ETC....

 

MMM..... ALSO WITH THE PIANO I STARTED TO LISEN A LOT OF CLASSICAL MUSIC, AND FROM THE THEATRE I PASSED TO THE OPERA!

when i was younger i listened to what my parents were into.

well, I remember my mom listening to Tori Amos, Meat loaf, U2, and a lot of soft rock while I was growing up.

My dad listened to Frank Sinatra, Elvis, The Beach Boys, and The Beatles. He liked to sing along a lot to his music in the car. :rolleyes: :P

 

I remember my sister was obsessed with The Smashing Pumpkins... and she liked Hole at one time. I would mostly listen to whatever my family would listen to. It was either that or the radio....*was broke*

 

I can't remember what my brother would listen to. He would never let me listen to his CD's anyway. :P I listened to a lot of dance music when I was real young...

Now, me and my sister have the most in common with what kind of music we like to listen to...we talk to each other about new bands & singers.

AH, I REMEMBER WHEN I WANTED TO PLAY THE CELLO I REALLY FALLED INTO JAZZ, BUT I DUN KNOW WHY PEOPLE HATE IT SO MUCH!

 

AND ON THE SKIING SEASON, WE HAVE TO WAKE UP APROX AT 5 SOMETHING OR 6 AT THE MOST, SO THEY OPUT THIS AWFUL MUSIC, THAT WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO GO TO SLEEP AGAIN! DON'T ASK ME WHAT IT WAS, CAUSE I ASSURE YOU I DIDNT WANNA KNOW! :lol:
