   BELIEVE IT OR NOT, I PASSED ENGLISH WITH HONOURS! (WRITING DOESN'T COUNT ON IT! :P ) THE THING THAT I DIDN'T PASSED WAS HISTORY........... UNVELIABABLE!

I watched a lot of music videos from about 2-8. My mom had a few 33s, but I don't remember listening to them that often, but I think I'm going to do that this weekend. See if I can find some good music. I'm black and my mom used to have a lot of good old skool r&b and soul stuff, but her basement flooded and a lot of those record got destroyed. Not the point... When I was about 9 years old, my friend Cory introduced me to Green Day and "Dookie" was the first cassette I bought that was mine and that album literally rocked my world because I had always wanted to be a musician but this album and the movie, "That thing you do" really sealed the deal for me. Now, the only MTV I watch is MTV2 and I watch stuff like Subterranean and that's it. I mostly try to find music on my own by getting recommendations from other artists I like, to reading Pitchforkmedia, tiny mix tapes, researching and listening to the clips on Amazon.com. I don't listen to the radio unless it's like music from the 50s/60s/70s. I've been trying to get into Dick Dale and a lot of jazz and blues. I'm really can't wait to start building a jazz and blues collection. I hope I can find some stuff I really enjoy.

Some bands I liked and considered favorites when I wasn't that crazy about music:

Sugar Ray

Jesus Jones

Aqua

The Beatles

Weird Al Yankovic

Nickelback

U2 (simply because of New Years Day, the song)

Pretty sad huh?

Well, I grew up listening to those awesome 80's bands on the radio... Echo, Smiths, Cure.... And my sister always listened to Duran Duran and Queen (two bands I really like).

I remember the first record I bought was The Cult's Love and I still have it. I was like, 13 years old I guess... My parents always told stories about the Beatles so I got into them on my own, cause there weren´t any albuns in my house !

my dad was in a band and I'd go see him and he played alot of the beatles and stevie wonder.......bad side.....he loves Garth Brooks :stunned: so I had to listen to that alot

my mam listened to the kinks, the small faces, janis joplin and stuff like that (she was a big hippy!) :P

my bro got me into all the music I love now his fav band was always oasis and the stone roses :)

my sis listened to alot of led zep and metallica and other rock and heavy metal

my other sister was into rave and dance music but when I was growing up she loved new kids on the block and vanilla ice etc :stunned:

yeah my parents were also into fake country music like garth brooks and vince gill, but luckily i didn't absorb any of that.

My parents aren't into some specific music and my sister is younger than me, so I had to learn by myself...

And I made some mistakes... :P

While growing up, I would listen to pop, instrumental music, rock/metal and dance music....

hehe aqua used to be my favourite band. :P and i still think the "dr.jones" song is a gerat dance song

two of my favourite bands growing up were oasis and our lady peace, i know that for sure.

i remember when i watched this one video of oasis i always said that his lip was always on the mike :P

I'm the oldest, so I took after my parents, and still do. Form my dad I got mostly Dave Matthews Band(still my favorite) and from my mom I got Chicago and some of The Cars. I can honestly say I never went through any "phases", I never liked pop music, or rap or, hard rock(like metal er..whatever). Never was a big fan of Nirvana. From Chicago and Dave Matthews Band though, I started to like Jazz too. I obviously like a lot of others too(considering I have over 520 MP3s on my computer shhh don't tell anyone..). Coldplay my friend showed me, I had known a lot of their songs before, but had no idea who they were by, but I really liked them. Then there's The Brilliant Green, I heard them because they do the theme song for the Powerpuff girls (Japanese version), and I found out that they had a ton of other good songs. Well this turned out longer than I would have thought. Now people are going to go past it because they don't want to read it all... and here I'm making it even longer. LAZY BUMS!!!

Well I'm the youngest....and I don't know what kind of music my dad listens to....... :shifty: (that sounds bad I know...don't ask......) and my mom likes slow songs...like balads & my oldest brother...I don't know what he listens to..... :shifty: and my other brother likes rock; the next one I don't know what he listens to :shifty: & the next one, I think he listens to hip hop & the next one likes pop and techno I think I don't know:shifty: & I like pretty much everything.............. :smug: ;) :D :P
