Did anyone hear about their (Jonny's, Nathan's and Gary's) music label Polar Music? I just read about it today and wondered when they founded it. Didn't find a homepage or something for it so I guess it's not too long ago that they started it.

  • Finally a new album from the band! Haven't heard the full album yet, just the 3 pre-released songs and they're great.

have fun and come give us the details when you get back, Angie! Can't wait for tomorrow!

No need to wish you a lot of fun for you WILL have that. :D Enjoy your evening and come back and tell us about it. If you happen to take some photos, we would love to see them. :)

Does anyone else like Engines?? I am LOVING that song right now! (sorry, but I'm new to AHMS and I'm just discovering some of these songs!) :P

Engines actually gives me vibes of Final Straw. I don't think they play it live, but it's a pretty good song.

Lifeboats is the only song I skip over on AHMS. I'm giving that whole album plenty of replays before I see them in two weeks.

i like Engines...& Lifeboats too. The Golden Floor is another one i like a lot. but i absolutely LOVE The Planets Bend Between Us the most. still.

can't get tired of listening to it, esp the album version.

Home from the show. It was awesome. The Plain White T's opened and they were OK. I couldn't stop thinking that their singer looks like a MiniMe for Gary.

Snow Patrol on at 9:15, played til around 10:45. Gary totally fucked up. He said "We are so happy to be in Austin". The crowd started grumbling and he snapped to what he said. Then he gave a long apology. And the next song was Make This Go On Forever, which made it funny. Then he gave a second apology and dedicated Run to Houston. I shot some video and tons of pics (coming soon, food first). I got a guitar pick and the guy next to me got a setlist and let me shoot a pic of it. The security guy was a total ****. During Plain White T's we had a different guard and he was cool. He stood way over to the side and stayed low so people could see. Then just before SP comes on, we get this asshole who stands right in front of me and blocks everyone's view, while the first guard is now squatting over on the other side. I took his pic and a pic of his name tag and will beposting it here so we can all call him a dickhead by name!

Well that sucks, what a terrible guard. The guy next to you with the setlist was nice enough to let you take a photo!

I think the only song missing from that is 'Just Say Yes'. I would love to see that live.

Angie- fantastic pics and videos! Congrats on getting a guitar pick... looks like it was a great show. Now Gary will probably call us "Houston" instead of Austin tonight! ;)

You should make a sign: ATTENTION GARY YOU ARE IN AUSTIN, TEXAS

Awesome pictures and video, Angie! And congrats on getting that guitar pick! :D

Plain White T's are okay, huh? I can't stand when their music comes on the radio, but maybe they're better live...

They weren't bad. Played for 45 minutes. The only song I knew was Hey There Delilah. Some of their stuff was slower like that and some of it was faster and that stuff sounded better to me. I just could stop thinking that the singer looked like a mini-gary. :P They had several fans that showed up for them which I thought was nice. The girl next to me left after their set though. She should have stuck around to see what a proper band sounds like.

ohh great i want a pick

he looks rather bored there...

but great pix! & the guitar pick looks cool with the snowflake on it! :D

I also have a set of drum sticks from prior shows and they have snowflakes on them as well.

Yay, first time I actually receive one of the newsletters!

We already announced the release of ‘Up To Now’ on 9th November. In case you missed it, it’s a collection of Snow Patrol’s best loved songs, and features three brand new tracks, as well as forthcoming single ‘Just Say Yes’.

There’s loads in it – it’s a thirty track, double album of singles, cover versions, rarities and compositions by The Reindeer Section ( an indie supergroup co-ordinated by Snow Patrol frontman Gary Lightbody.)

We also have put together a strictly limited edition fan version of the album, which is available exclusively from the band’s store and not in shops.

This beautiful heavyweight box will be numbered and wrapped in cloth and is a veritable treasure trove for fans!

It contains the two disc CD, three heavyweight LPs, two DVDs, a lithograph print by Bradley Quinn and an LP-sized booklet. You can find out more via the link below.

THAT'S what I thought seeing this photo of him! I just saw the Plain White T's singer on the cover of their album and in the 3 Words I Love You song (or whatever it's called ) and never thought of Gary then. But this photo changed my mind.

Oooh, thanks for posting this, i've just entered the competition!:D

Angie, thanks a lot for posting all your amazing pics and vids! And congrats on getting that guitar pick, it's really cool!:D

Oh the show was awesome last night!

It was ridiculously hot (it was an outdoor gig) and the heat was Gary's favorite topic of conversation..."I love this city, but seriously, how do you people go outside?? It's fucking hot!"

They were incredible... lots of energy in spite of the somewhat dull crowd. I was front row center-ish, a bit more toward Nathan's side. Highlights of the show for me were Run, Open Your Eyes, You're All I Have, Take Back the City (not my fave song on the album, but was so fun live!) and the LIGHTNING STRIKE was absolutely unbelievable. GAH. SO, SO GOOD!!

Got only a couple of photos and 1 really short vid of Gary hopping off the stage to sing to someone right near me. After the show, the band didn't hang around outside, but we saw Paul and Jonny in a bar across the street from the venue and I got to thank Paul for the incredible show. He was very sweet and humble. :wacky:

Anyway, here are my pics:

I didn't get any pics of Nathan because every time I tried, he'd step into an area where he was completely drowned out by the light. then my camera died. :(
