valentine's day is such a stupid holiday. if you love your significant other, they'll know, you don't have to spend money on them to prove it.

I feel bad saying this now after reading what everyones said...but I don't really think you need one day to tell someone that you love them...I don't think there should only be one day for it, it should be everyday that you tell your partner you love them...i dont see why one day should be so different...but then saying that I still think its a nice thing...I had a wonderful valentines day :)

i think it's pretty obvious that the reason we need that one day to say it is so retail stores can play it up so that everybody runs out and spends money on clothes or flowers or diamonds or whatever else it is that people don't really need.

but what Sammie says is true. Same goes for having 'mothers day' and 'fathers day' and what not... :rolleyes: they're your parents, you should be loving and respecting them everyday, not just those days...

right, and those are more holidays we can thank marketers for.

 

but yeah, i agree wholeheartedly, every day should be for those things, but sometimes we take it for granted, so it's nice to have a reminder for them every now and then.

I totally agree with that, it's just that..it makes people feel bad when everyone else is out celebrating with someone and you're not, well I don't really care right now, but you know..

Yeah ... it's not the pro-couples angle of Valentine's Day that blows. It's the anti-single aspect that sucks.
