you all can guess what this post was about.

i've deleted what i originally wrote.

I like the polls. That's why i've decided not to become involved in this discussion. :D

But Julia ... you just posted in the discussion.

I don't fault any of the people who don't mind the polls. I can defenitely understand not letting it get to you.

Damn you're right! *scratches head*

Me oh so dumb.

I just don't get why you don't just..avoid the threads. I didn't think they were stoping you from posting with Gaby and such. I can see why you'd get frustrated though. I, on the other hand, dont get frustrated at all. Not anymore at least.

Yeah ... you're right.

I actually don't go into the thread.

But everytime I hit refresh on the Latest Posts screen ... guess what's there?

But I think I just needed to vent. I feel better now. I'm actually going to delete my message in a little bit. It's a me issue ... well, it's actually a her issue, but she's decided what she wants to do, so I need to deal with it.

oh, I just saw this thread, richard. Sorry that i didn't reply sooner.

Ah, gotta agree with everything you said. And yea, that's soo true. Like, when i got to the boards today i was checking the threads and i was like "whoa, so many boring threads" and i was just lurking and reading em.. So then i went to the world of music forums (it looks like that's the only coldplaying forum that still is worth posting.) and posted on the travis thread. that made me feel better... so then i checked the other world of music threads, and checked the general forums.. and found 4 POLLS, and i was like "gah, that's it" and that's why i posted that other thread.

And oh, don't delete this thread, richard. We need inteligent threads on the general forums.

I think I just remember when the board was a better place. You and I talked about this before ...

... but I'm actually considering logging off in a bit. I usually work and post until about 12am my time ... it's only 10pm right now.

It's all because the overall quality of the board is diminishing. Now instead of 50% of the threads catching my attention it's 30% or 20% ... either way, it's starting to get to where it's not worth my time to search for them.

Yea, exactly. And oh, I think I'll log off soon too. In fact, if you didn't post on my poll thread, probably i'd be offline right now. Thanks for backing me up, man.

And ah, don't worry, this board still has lots of smart, cool members, so in a matter of time, lots of interesting threads will appear all over the forums, and this will be a sweet place again, just like it used to be... uhh... i hope.

Yep ... there's always the Travis thread!!!! :D

I'm logging off. Night Thom. Night Julia!

We need inteligent threads on the general forums.

Well I dunno, for me it's not really about the threads, it's about the conversations that I have with people on here, that's why I come back all the time.

^me too

but these pointless polls do get kinda annoying. I don't usually read them but they push everything to page 2 which is kinda annoying :dozey:

Yep ... talking to people. Making friends. That makes the board irresistable, no matter how many small negatives there make be.

what is this thread about ????????

^^ I thought the same at first, Josie...

But now I think it was about too much polls.

But there's a solution for that: ignoring polls and try to make better threads.

I also agree with Thom and Richard that, lately, I think the mb is a bit slow, or boring, or pfff, I don't know... But it's our responsability to make it better.

We're all users and if we think the mb needs better things, we have to make them.

This thread wasn't really supopsed to be about polls only. Part of what I wrote (and then deleted) dealt with an overall attitude: not being considerate to people on the board who legitimately care about a certain content level.

In the end, us users need to deal with the reality of the board: It's a free forum. However, I think that people continuously making useless threads and posting with behaviours and responses which ignore legitimate requests ...

Let's face it: When 2 out of every 5 new threads is a bullshit thread the board is a worse place to be.

Actually, I'm happy to see that the latest poll is way down on the latest posts list, though it was still right there, screaming at me when I logged on.

I see now what you meant in your 1st original post.

And, if it's about consideration and respect towards other users, I totally agree with you.

But, as you say, that's a free forum and that means some inconvenients...

Anyways, this situation is getting me sad. I feel like losing nice people... :/

i'm still here

like an immovable erm stone  :stunned:

  • Author

If all of us posters where as immovable as you, Simon, then this board would be a pretty cool place ...

Though not all of us are capable of such entertaining, random wit. :wink3:

i was thinking of something more impressive but it never came

how about an immovable mountain eh? :wink3:
