older story from a american fan:

He was just rather snippy. I was 5 months pregnant when I saw him here in Washington and he was going to sign an autograph for me and I was telling him I was pregnant and how tired I was but blah blah blah and he signed "Chris" to a piece of paper and I was joking but said "That's it?! (ha ha)" and he snapped at me "What do you MEAN that's it? We just put on a fantastic show for you and you say "THAT'S IT?" " I guess he was cranky.

HAHAHAHAH. Whatever. But I'm sure he was a big meany before he became a rock star. Though I have no proof. But I suspect it can't change you THAT much. For example, I'd still be an assface, too, only with more money and better clothes.

Hoax

It's a very bad hoax from those people.

We've all snipped at people when we've had a bad day. We've all had times when we just want to be left alone. Chris just happens to famous so people notice it and/or take it to heart more. He's just a human being, and with all the hangers-on, fans, paps etc, he has to work extra-hard to be polite all the time. I'm sad that people were hurt by his reaction, but I wouldn't take it too personally.

chris live in antwerp :)

this is chris on 26 oct 2005 ,they were playing in antwerp ,and I was standing on the frontline . the green ring from chris is now mine,he threw it in front of me on the end of the concert. it's mine now ,and i'm happy with this ring from chris :)

bram from belgium

yeah..but he's famous musician and has to be extra careful when these kinds of things appear.

human after all indeed :D

Lol, I think everyone gets an attitude sometimes, celebs just need to watch themselves more.

yeah..that's what i was trying to say..

That's what I mean. He has to keep up appearances. And it must get hard for him sometimes, just like it gets hard for ayone doing a job where they have to be polite all the time. His every move is under public scrutiny all the time, and the pressure probably gets to him sometimes.

Yeah, but common folk don't make millions, I mean, if I made millions, I would be peachy as hell to all of my customers.

I'm sure you would...98% of the time, lol. And since you'd be famous, we'd all talk about the 2% when you hadn't slept well, or were in a hurry or felt people were demanding more when you'd already given all you had.:D

But to make some one feel like trash is doing more than snapping.

I could understand the remark to the lady that said "Thats it!?" but to be so rude to the point of making someone cry, I cant really find an excuse for.

It seems that these little rude streaks have been happening quite a bit lately, maybe hes stresses with the new album and the tour, I don't know. I would just expect for a fan to be treated a little better is all.

Yeah, I think it's a shame.

Hopefully it is not constant. Otherwise...

I don't know what Chris should do. Taking a break seems useless if it should make him feel more comfortable. It seems as if...

He needs to think about it...

I do agree that there have been more moments like this lately. I hope he catches himself before he alienates too many people. Much as we love the guys, fans can be a demanding lot, and I can see him feeling overwhelmed by it. He's a good guy at heart. I'm sure he'll find a balance.:)

Well he goes to Chile and the press prints the frickin hotel they are staying at and people are there everytime he trys to enter or leave the building. He decides to go to a museum, he always does this as he always makes an effoft to learn about other people's culture. Prob thinks he be able to have a little quite and surely there won't be Coldplay fans there and as soon as he walks in, instead of this person being professional in her job and saying something along the lines of "Hello Mr Martin, welcome to Chile and blah blah Museum, we are happy that you are visiting us today. Would you prefer to walk around alone or would you like a guided tour?" Instead they start right in about how they love Coldplay and I'm sure he thought there would plenty more where that came from. If you want to be treated as a professional, act like a professional. Its not like she asked him and he told her to fuck off, he just wanted to visit the museum in peace. Then she gets all crying because he doesn't want to be her bestest friend and walk around the museum talking about Coldplay all day. He doesn't like talking about Coldplay when he been asked to an interview to actually TALK about Coldplay. If they would have been professional in their job...he went to a museum, not a fan meet and greet..... and when he was finished said thanks for coming and I personally love your music, I think the reaction she got would have been very different.

this explanation really satisfied me..Thanks angie.

to make up wrong stories about Coldplay. :( It's called a hoax.

i know Angie, but i don't like anyone treting those, who are most responsable for all the things he has, like trash is a bit wrong.

like you or me or any other fan wouldn't do the same thing if he/she/we saw Chris anywhere...?! being such a celeb is a 24/7 thing and he needs to face it, not with paps but when it comes to fans yes.

from the story " I said hi, and I introduce myself as a big fan of his band, he said hi and kept walking." If he wanted to be rude, he wouldn't have even acknowledged this person, but he said hi. Then it comes down to a person at their job being professional about it. What do you want him to do exactly? Drop to his knees and kiss the feet of everyone that likes his music or says hi to him? I don't think it's wrong for him to just want to enjoy himself at a museum and not have to be CHRIS MARTIN just to apease someone else. Look at all the shit people say on these message boards about him, do you think they don't say this shit to his face. He will NEVER be able to be what you want him to be, someone will always feel disappointed, but that's their perception.

i agree, but i don't think ppl say to him face to face, people like to blab about a lot and say a lot of nasty things when nobody knows who they are in real life. i've had my time with those on net and defended CP on more than one ccasion.

that's not the thing that pissed me in this story, the part that pissed me off is where Chris refuses to go with the person to show him the exibition the moment he realised that person is fan and the way he acted in that situation. that's what's this fan's job is on what you keep insisting, she was suspossed to do her job but Chris said no just because, from what i could gather, she is a fan.

don't be sarcastic , we're just sharing opinions here, i explained previously in this post what i think he's guilty for.

Oh but people do say stuff to him, I've heard it. "why are your t-shirts so expensive?" "why didn't you play ____ song?" "why did you say that stuff about the war" and that was only in the brief time I was near him. And it's all about a person's prespective. Case in point the recent meeting of him by Steph, Kara and Nettie. Steph and Kara felt disappointed and Nettie didn't. She said she didn't feel he was rude or rushing her, but Steph and Kara did. Do I believe them all, yes, because each person has their own idea of what it will be like and each person views what happened based on their vision and perspective. So he didn't want to tour the museum with this person. Big fucking deal. I'm sure he wasn't the first person in history to visit that museum and not have this person show them around. He was there to see the museum, not meet this person. I personally can't stand it when people are yapping while I'm at a museum and I would have took the tour alone myself. Does that make me a twat or am I OK because I'm not famous/rich.
