You know, I often feel a little bit down. At school, I have some superficial friends who don't share my point of view. I can't understand them and they can't understand me. And it's tough, cause sometimes I think that no one understands me and I don't feel very at ease and comfortable. I do have another good friend who does understand me more but I can't see her that often. Don't think I'm unsociable or left out or something, I get along with most of the people. But it's just a feeling and when I'm here, I always feel much better.

 

I'll echo Row's sentiments here. You're all wonderful, beautiful girls, and it's been a pleasure getting to "know" you all, so to speak, on here. If you need to vent, gush, whatever-we're all here :hug:.

 

 

 

:hug: I know that feeling, too. I've always, always felt "out of step" with people I know. Either my interests are too unusual and unknown, or I've lived in areas where my political views are...not the norm, to say the least, I'm a quiet person who likes to just stay in and do simple things-my idea of "fun" is often not many other 20 something people's idea of "fun". I'm often either surrounded by people who are a few years younger than me or much older than me (i.e., most of my co-workers, they're middle aged women), it's rare to find people within my actual age. And those that are within my age, many of them are in between relationships and/or have kids already, which I don't have either of. My friends are totally cool with me this way, but sometimes it'd be nice to find someone who would like and know about the sorts of things I do.

 

Sigh. Ah, well. Like you said, this place is a great way of finding others who can relate. And they do indeed know how to cheer you up here :D.

 

 

I'll echo that, too. I'm really pleased to have had the guts to post something here, cause now I'm really happy to have "met" all of you. :) You're all great !! ;)

 

Hmmm, yes, I understand what you mean. Yeah, I think I don't have exactly the same idea of "fun" than all the others from my age. I do know some people who don't have that standard idea of "fun" either, but it's hard to exist when you feel a little bit different than the others. The age thing is also true. :nod:

I know how you feel, I never had a lot of friends, I just had a little group but several things changed in the last year so we don't go out together anymore...I feel really bad about this because I think it's my fault...We were a 3 long lasting couples, well...you all know that I have a boyfriend but we are engaged from 1 year, before him I was with another guy for 5 years, I really loved him but, you know, sometimes feelings change and love ends...and, well, another love can start...I broke up with my ex-boyfriend because I thought was the only right thing to do, I was [and I am ♥] really in love with someone else, the love was gone and this thing, to know that I didn't love him anymore, was the worst thing...I think that to discover that you don't love anymore the one you thought was meant to stay for ever it's the worst feeling in life...now, after all this time I still feel sick in the stomach to think about this...but well this decision changed all my life, our groups of friends don't exist anymore, I only see my female friends but not more than one time in 3 month...I go out with my boyfriend's friends, they are nice and fun but not my friends, they don't know nothing about me...

And I don't have the same idea of fun of my contemporary, they get drunk, smoke, drug themselves and go to the disco, I don't need this to have.

Just yesterday night I said to my boyfriend that I found my little comfortable corner of paradise here with you :nice:

Yes, I do not have a lot of friends either. I had a best friend for 2-3 years and now we aren't in the same class anymore and we just drifted apart, cause she has a boyfriend now and so on. I have always told her everything and now it's a little weird but we didn't get along with each other anymore.

Oh I can only imagine that it hurts a lot, but now you have someone you love and who loves you :)

But I believe that like Lory said yesterday, it's better to have a few and good friends rather than a lot of unsignifiant friends.

 

Well, exactly, me neither, they go to the woods to get drunk, they go out all the time and I don't really need that either.
