Turkish Delights .....

Featured Replies

Believe me, I know all about being cheap. :lol:

I usually spend hours shopping for music too. Although I usually go for independently run stores, because they almost always have a better selection than your average chain (Tower is pretty good though) and they're usually cheaper too. :D

oh yeah? like which ones do you go to?

there's this one store in uptown Houston: Cactus Music. I bet if I go there, they'll have all the Muse and Damien Rice and all other ones as well. But they're not cheap by any means.

Which ones do I go to? Well, my favorites around here are AKA Music (which is the best of them all because it's cheapest, has the best selection, and is closest to the subway stop), Spaceboy Music, Philadelphia Record Exchange, and... this other one on South St. whose name I forget, which are all conveniently located within a 7 or 8 block area in Old City, and The Marvelous, which is a little more expensive (has about your average Tower Records prices) but is only a ten minute walk from where I live.

All of those stores also have huge selections of cheap used vinyl, which is another reason I like them.

oh right....

hey, i know someone who lives in Center City. Is that a good place to live?! lol

she's going to school there....

i wish i cud visit Philly sometime soon! :cool: ;)

Turkish delights are yuck! Argh, they taste like rubber.

oh right....

It's probably where I'd be if I could afford it.

Weeeeeeeeeell, I know Turkish honey! (at least we call it like that) and it's yummy yummy ... can't wait for Christmas :nice:

I've always wanted to try turkish delights. But they don't sell any around here.

well, there are actually two kinds of them.

one is used for girls and the other is something eaten and looks like rubber in fact =)

if we dont mean the girls, then i prefer chocolate (kitkat for example or crunch) :smug:

by the way i've just eaten 3-4 of them today.. they are not that bad actually i like them but as i said i prefer chocolate most of the time..

Now, Cypriot Delights mmmmmmm!!!!

They're the best ;)

Hey, Coldplaying, what's your name? :)

Do they sell turkish delights in Turkey also in the summertime? :wacko: How sweet are they?

ive never heard of cypriot delights or i dont know maybe i know but with a different name..

yeah, summertime wintertime springtime everytime :P

how sweet?

i cant explain, you should try it and experience the effects.. (:

funky! i don't know but I will decipher it a bit later :P

well, i tried some food from Turkish part of Cyprus and it was veeeeery sweet. But I loved that strange bread with cheese in it, in triangular shape. yummy :)

Cypriot Delight is what they sell in Cyprus as they have a bad history with Turkey - them invading Cyprus for one thing - so don't import or sell Turkish Delight and sell their own version JUST to wind up the Turkish.

What a wonderful world eh?

The north is run by Turkish Cypriots (Republic of Northern Cyprus) ergo they sell Turkish Delights.

I wonder what sort of delights they sell in no-mans land? ;)

When they locked up the social democrats,

I did not speak out;

When they came for the trade unionists,

I did not speak out;

I was not a trade unionist.

When they came for the Jews,

I did not speak out;

I wasn't a Jew.

When they came for me......
