I saw it again today

The movie is great, but the book is better

haha, yeah, I like that part. but my eyes are very sensitive. if someone even talks about having something in their eye I get watery.

did you know in that scene pictured above the man playing the doctor (whom i think was an actual doctor) was having a hard time remembering his line and kept fumbling. the lead actor guy 'alex' (i've never seen the movie the whole way through...) got so frustrated he batted the eye klentching things away and ended up scratching his eye very badly.

 

kubrick didn't want to stop filming so he made the actor continue the scene in pain and just shot on the other side of his face so you couldn't see his other injuried eye.

 

you prolly all knew that. i read it in a Q mag.

Ooooh I watched the beginning of this film some months ago.....it was later at night and I was alone in the living room.....so I turned the TV off after a while because I was erm let's say "scared".....these kind of films are cool......but I can't watch them alone...:embarassed:

never watched the film and didn't knew that is based on a book... (usually the book is better than the film).

 

As i remember when the master Kubric died, news spoke about this film, the idea that Kubric had, is to warn people to not end doing what you can see in the film.. i think that it was taken wrongly by some people...

 

anyways i had to watch this film... to have a proper opinion about it.

A Clockwork Orange is kind of film that you have to watch several times to understand everything. i watched the movie about a month ago and it left a very deep impression in me. i was speechless. this film is a visual masterpiece surrounded by a perfect soundtrack. a piece of art in every aspect.

A MUST for everyone. even if it's quite disturbing. you don't see films like ACO every day. Kubrick was a fucking genius (RIP) and this film was probably his best (though, choosing a favourite Kubrick film is like choosing a favorite child...)

I think I regret that I didn't finish watching it.......the rape scene just scared me away...:bigcry:

I don't know if it's the word you are thinking of, but I believe A Clockwork Orange falls into the category of 'dystopian novel' - dystopia being the opposite of the idealistic utopia. Other books/movies that fall into this category are 1984, Brave New World, Fahrenheit 451, Children Of Men. Sort of a warning to future generations not to f**k things up... too late I guess lol. You could discuss the idea of dystopia for aaaaaaaages because of the huge relevance it has on modern society; CCTV cameras, government cencorship, ridiculous laws stating that children will go to prison if they leave school before they are 18 years old in the UK, you get the idea. I love this whole dystopian idea and wrote essays on it in my English Literrature classes as I'm sure many of you guys on here have, everyone seems to have read 1984 or something similar in English at some point or another. The number of comparisons you can draw between them and society today is amazing.
