so can somebody inform me on various tunings cp uses in various songs...nothing specifc...just looking for the most comon tuning :smug:

Uhhhhhhhhhhh as it's been awhile since I tried to play any Coldplay songs on guitar (or even on piano, for that matter), I can only remember this:

 

Shiver and Yellow:

E A B G B D#

God Put A Smile Upon Your Face:

 

OPEN C# -- C# C# F G# C# C#

 

I tend to tune to open C [CCEGCC] and then put a capo on the first fret, cos tuning from D up to F is a bit risky. But Coldplay definitely play open C#.

 

The Scientist:

E A D E A E

(capo third fret)

 

Warning Sign:

E A D E A E

(capo first fret)

 

 

A Whisper:

E A D E B E

(capo third fret)

but aren't the scientist and warning sign 2 diff songs :surprised:
