If you ask me, X&Y is a hugely underrated album ! :P And while @cp likes MX a lot, he is for example one of the (few?) people here around I've seen here who appreciates What If, imho an underrated masterpiece. And I consider myself to be an Oldplayer, but that does not mean that I can't see anything positive in a Newplay song once in a while (I have been getting criticised lately for trying to save Princess Of China in the MX Elimination thread, so...) So yeah, let's not generalize....

AROBTTH vs. Jason Derulo - Trumpets, an awful song I just stumbled on which contains sophisticated lyrics like: "Is it weird that your ass reminds me of a Kanye West song/Is it weird that your bra reminds me of a Katy Perry song/Is it weird that your eyes remind me of a Coldplay song" (OK, it could have been worse...it could have been ass/bra reminding him of a Coldplay song...)

This ! Coldplay used to be the best melodists in contempary rock/pop music...but since MX (which was still kinda OK melody-wise) and Ghost Stories (which had a terrible lack of good melodies) the ideas seem to be running out !

I hear you. But I'm a little bit more pessimistic about AHFOD, there is actually nothing to assume Coldplay is gonna change their direction anytime soon. On another note, I just went for a stroll and came to a bridge where nobody was. Since I miss singing aloud where I currently live (roommate is nearly always there when I'm there...) I used the opportunity. It was dark and I could see the city skyline on the other side of the river, that made me think of glowing lights and so the first song that came to my mind was Life in Technicolor ii. After that I sang I Bloom Blaum. Just had to stop it once in the middle of LiTii when people passed too closely. I don't wanna anyone to hear my singing because I have a terrible voice. But it was a wonderful experience.
