Hm, i generally almost never wear clothing with something written on it (except perhaps university sweatshirt etc). I feel if I were to wear a T-shirt with simething written on it, it would have to be somethign with a really deep meaning. For example, I could envision wearing a T-shirt with a sociall/political message I could identify with (haven't done that either, but i could see myself doing that). But a band's name...after all, it's only music, and there are far more important things in the world. I could imagine wearing a Coldplay shirt in a context of music though (for example at a concert or festival) but not in the general public. This has nothing to do with the band. (Although i must admit that wearing a Coldplay shirt nowadays would give other people an even wronger impression of me, since it might imply I'm all for this larger-than-life colour pop when in fact I'm a fan of Oldplay :D But that's not the decisive factor here)

Actually, it's a shame they wasted Jonny's great guitar solo for this song. They could've made a whole decent song based on that melody that Jonny plays.

I'm not the owner of this thread, but if you had to vote for the same songs again it wouldn't make any sense. I am sure the point is to vote for whatever you like.

That's a very interesting point you make there! I had never thought of it in these terms. VLVODAAHF album insert - the Delacroix painting is so much more iconic than the painting used for Prospekt's March. Coldplay throwing cameras into the crowd vs. Chris singing Talk into the phone of somebody (both during Twistd Logic Tour)

Yeah, I have nothing clothing-related either and to be honest I wouldn't wanna wear anything that says Coldplay. Because I'm not somebody who, after all, would define myself by a band. I love their music and everything, but it doesn't make me a different person, it doesn't define me as a person. Do you know what I mean ? That's why I generally wouldn't wear band merchandise in public.

Just to make it clear, I do believe AROBTTH has the better flow as an album. But X&Y has overall got the better tunes. Yeah, it might be a little bit too long, I have a tendency to terminate listening either after The Hardest Part or Twisted Logic.

I have no idea about the absolute numbers (I hope not !!!) but this may well be a generational thing. Many of today's teens have no idea about the previous works of Coldplay, other than perhaps Clocks and Viva La Vida. For them, Coldplay is that larger-than-life colourful pop band that they became with MX and may resume being with AHFOD, as I fear. X&Y is the most misunderstood and underrated of all Coldplay albums. I wish one day people will come to recognize how good it really is.

I love PM/PF and I hope it doesn't go next. It belongs in the top 5 of that Era. I would prefer if 42 got eliminated next, I think it's a very inconsistent song and it lacks a strong melody.

The lyrics are dumb, the verse and chorus melody very boring, and I am paticular annoyed at this weird sound appearing again and again (the one that sounds like you deflate something - do you know what I mean) In fact, the guitar solo melody would have been a great one to make a song off but evidently that didn't happen here.

Yeah, I think it does. I don't wanna ignite a battle here, but for example personally I found people in East Germany to be on the whole more friendly than people in the West. As for the Coldplay fan question, it's difficult to spot fans because they are so unassuming and look like everybody else. Contrary to other genres or bands, likeing Coldplay won't show up on your hairstyle or clothing style or result in you being covered in tattoos etc. I postulate that the true Coldplayer (and I mean people who really are into their earlier work as well and not just fans of MX/post-MX stuff) has perhaps a different mindset from other people in that he/she is more of a sensitive, melancholic person. I can imagine it's true for many of them. But then again, this is nothing that shows up physically so you can't spot a Coldplay fan this way either.

True Believer, a song to be forgotten in the annals of music history. Unlike all those Coldplay tunes. We shouldn't worry too much about that "song". Still a bit disturbing what stuff Chris is working on nowadays.

And lmost exactly halfway through the game, nothing has remained of Mylo Xyloto or Ghost Stories. I vote The Escapist in order to #saveViva ! @The Adversary: In my opinion, Viva is a great song. Its melody is one of the best melodies ever written. It has got a great instrumentation with strings and bells, nderlining the melody. I also like Paradise but Viva is so much better. It's one of the best hits, if not the best hit, of the decade.

I believe so, too. For some reason, the more time progresses the less do I see the band that I could identify with. I look at these developments and think, they are not my band anymore. Yeah, I miss the band they used to be. Check out the thread in my signature...you will find like-minded people there.
