No doubt Viva is also great, but actually I was more thinking of AROBTTH and X&Y which are the two albums I most listen to. Only recently "discovered" the bassline on In My Place. Funny thing is that once you have heard a particular line, you cannot "unhear" it any more :D

I also discover new melodies hidden in the songs every time I hear them through a different headphone/speaker or when I focus on something in particular (for instance I say to myself, lets try to identify the bassline). Coldplay's music is very carefully layered, that's why it sounds so beautiful !

In fact, I do know that version in that YT link. It is the one featuring Chris's distorted (or rather, transposed. I don't know the exact word, but you know what I mean) vocals. To be honest, I didn't think it to be so bad. It was actually a pretty decent EDM song. And are the "Shit" vocals really confirmed ?? OMG I hope not

Actually, the thing I dislike most about Rainy Day are Chris's vocals. They don't appeal to me at all, the way he intonates the words (especially the part "i love it when you come over to my house !")

I agree that HLH is a very rocky pop song, it's indeed one of the better parts of MX :) By the way, I just listened to this new Avicii sample of True Believer. This "voice", if we generously wanna call it that, makes we wanna throw up. I hope this is a bad joke by an Avicii fan or something, if this is the real thing I finally lost trust in the world of modern music...so I lost my trust, but I never should have, oh I never should have...

During GS Chris wore a T-shirt and believe me or not, this and the Love buttons set it very much apart from said previous Eras, at least for my eyes. To me, their look during AROBTTH and X&Y was kinda alternative, and I liked that. GS gear was not alternative. Yeah, those MX2.0 fears were not really welcome in the LP7 thread. Personally I think they have a basis though and should be adressed...

Guys, don't forget statements are extremely subjective, and it doesn't actually make much sense to make them... On another note, ov3la is a serious poster here. That does not mean that we should trust the anouncements though. Ov3la is not trolling us, I'm sure, but there is no way of being sure one of his friends is not trolling him. That said, I hope it turns out to be true ! And "rockier" does sound promising. :D
