Amazing Day
If I were to guess about the fate of AHFOD, it is an album track (not a single) of AHFOD. If it were specifically for the festival, I guess they would have announced something like a donwload from which all proceeds go to Global Citizen. Since they didn't do that, I think it is nothing to do with GC. However, I believe it's not strong enough to be a single either. So either a track on AHFOD or a B-side/never-heard-of-again track of the AHFOD Era.

Umm, I know but I chose to read them. Nothing wrong about that, is there ? I was just referring to the huge number of large posts containing fighting.

***Coldplay SINGLES Elimination Game*** - let's single out the best single
ETIAW 4 Midnight 2 Paradise 2 The Hardest Part 2 Christmas Lights 1 Lost 1 VLV 1 ETIAW has fallen into the gap between the two trapezes and is out of the game ! There are several songs tied for the second place with only two votes each - Midnight, Paradise and The Hardest Part. Voting is now restricted to only those 3 till someone who has not yet cast a vote decides between them (= the good old tiebreaker system) !

Amazing Day
Hi, please read my above post again, in it I explained why I think it is beyond a simple explanation:
-
LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
It's funny how this thread, normally getting 10-15 more pages per day when we had any news or potential pieces of news now is basically dead. And do you know why ? Because the Oldplay vs. Newplay fighting has relocated to the Amazing Day thread :D

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
:( Coldplay have so many unreleased masterpieces...I sitill hope for that one day in the far future (like, in 30-40 yrs) where unreleased tracks will be made public, maybe long after the band has fallen apart. These things sometimes happen.

Exactly my thoughts when I read that comment. Seriously, asking people to leave because they disagree ?

Amazing Day
I don't thnk so. It says Thanks God, for my prayer must've been heard. God is used as more than a lyrical device here, it is s kind of praise in my opinion. What is even more bothersome is the "Life has a beautiful, crazy design" part.Chris must have known the implications. Speaking of Life as a design is wording that goes into the direction of creationism...

Wouldn't it be great if the band let fans vote on what songs they would like them to play?
Great idea ! But voting nshould maybe be restricted to some kind of core fanbase (then again, how to determine that) i order to make it possible for a less well-known song to win too, otherwise we'll really end up with the same setlists.

Uuuuh, ambiguous ambiguous indeed ! :D

===The ultimate Oldplaying Thread===S, BS, TBR, P, AROBTTH, X&Y, VLV, PM===
I can't respond to all the posts here but let me tell you I agree with almost all of them ! And thanks for the very positive responses to this thread. It means a lot to me. In the beginning I feared that people are gonna rip it apart because it is somewhat of a separational, instead of a unifying thing. But as you noticed, many of the "all-Coldplay-fans" flame at you when you say something in the direction of, they were better before MX, or I hope LP7 is not gonna be like MX, in the LP7 thread or other places so it's cool to have this thread to discuss and lament as much as we want to among kindred spirits :)

[2015-09-24] Chris Martin talk on Global Citizen, NY, USA
Funny, that did bother me too.

I fins it quite noticeable, to be honest, and it has does sound irritating to my ears (especially how it sounded on the GS album) but what can one do, for some reason it's simply gone....

Agree with that. The celeb lifestyle probably does not encourage you to adress the great questions of life other than in a superficial or pseudospiritual way, like "Amazing Day". Also, I dislike it when people, the older they get, forget about what shaped them when they were younger and become kinda complacent with life as it is. I always feel that you need to be true to yourself, and in Coldplay's case I wonder where the fears and doubts and melancholy and (very tame, but still palpable) rebelliousness of their early years have gone. Where is the naive uncertainty of a "We Never Change", where is the anger of a "Violet Hill" ? Seems to me that these themes are now mere shadows of themselves. Do they think emotions express themselves by stupid lines like "Under the rubble, sing a rebel song" ?

Yes, Chris Martin is a person who is quite self-deprecating, always doubting his own work (except his decision to go pop...unfortunately) and looking up to other artists. I think he is someone who can easily be impressed or influenced by other people's music. His inspirations were totally different in Coldplay's first years, and they were of really good quality (Radiohead etc.) and I think it is part of the reason why Coldplay sounded like they did. At some point, he entered other musical spheres and got hooked up in that.

The epic COLDPLAY vs. COLDPLAY game - everything against everything
CM+Faultline. I don't like Beck, and the songs he recorded with Faultline are both truly haunting and unique. Exeter vs. London
