  1. Great idea, alisbe!! For now, I'll share a short list of my favorite things. Parachutes: It just has a warm, fuzzy feeling. It also has Yellow, which without it, Coldplay might not be as big as they are. And I love Everything's Not Lost. It's weird, I cant explain why I love these things, it's just that I do. And the live version of ENL from Live 2003 is in my opinion one of the best live songs Coldplay has done. AROBTTH:This album is Coldplay at their best. The instrumentation on this album is amazing. Great production. I remember being mesmerized by Clocks the first time I heard it, so maybe without that song I wouldn't be here on this forum. X&Y: Also Coldplay at their best. I love the emotion Chris pours out into each of the songs on this album. X&Y transports me to another place; I feel like I'm floating when listening to it. VLVODAAHF: This is true musical experimentation....and they pulled it off well! Lovers in Japan is the song, along with Talk, that pulled me in to Coldplay, so I have a special connection to that song. The songs really stick to a theme. A little OT, but I think the music videos from this era were some of the best (think Strawberry Swing) MX: I love the whole 'concept album' thing! The lyrics truly told a beautiful story that can be related to many aspects in life. I think everyone was on point in this album as each member of the band had multiple chances to shine. My favorite song is HLH, so I think that was a high point of the album. GS: Chris really pored a lot of emotion into this album. I have to applaud him for doing so because I know that must have taken a lot of courage. AHFOD: This is another album where everyone in the band shines! I like the overall feeling I get after I'm done listening to it. Things I Like About Every Album: Coldplay really knows how to close an album. Just take a look at the last lines on each album...they are so beautiful, and in most cases do a really nice job of wrapping and summing it all up. Each album has it's own distinctive style that makes listening to one a unique experience and something you want to do again. Okay, I admit, that wasn't "short" but thanks again alisbe for making this awesome thread :)

@cp3176 Thanks! I saw that game! It definitely does look interesting....I'll try to post when I have the chance :)
  3. Up&Up is just too long to be the hit. Most people would lose interest after a while
  4. (Sorry if this has already been brought up) So does anyone else think that the 'big' song (think Clocks, Yellow, Fix You, etc) from this album is AOAL? I mean HFTW has been released as a single I believe, but it's not getting as much air time as AOAL. If so, this is the first time that the first single from one of their albums is the 'big' song. Also, if this were a different era, they would be playing the major, second single on all their TV appearances but AOAL is the song they are playing.
  5. I'm so hoping that they will return to AROBTTH-like sound now that Guy acknowledged that it is "everyone's" favorite. Shouldn't they want to please their fans?
  6. ^^ Haha yeah I'm sure that was the case. iTunes, charts, etc still list them as Alternative
  7. ^^They have toured in Denver for Parachutes through VLVODAAHF, so don't lose hope, they could return!
  8. ^^ Listen to Hotline Bling (pop) and then ask yourself if AHFOD sounds similar ;)
  9. Well my go-to song that I always said I would want to hear live is Talk, but seeing that Guy doesnt like that one, I'd have to go with something like The World Turned Upside Down or I Ran Away
  10. I won't say which ones, but Parachutes 5 AHFOD 4
  11. Does MX, MMIX, or AHT count as 'tracks' if we pair them with their partner song?
  12. AMDB9 replied to appleguyjoe's topic in Coldplay
Tbh, I dont think many people know anything beyond the singles. They might be the 'clocks band' but I've never heard anyone refer to them as "that A Whisper band." Same goes for all the other albums...

*swoops in on the back of a bald eagle* Everyone I know knows at least up to Viva la Vida.
  14. I am obviously an hour behind then. Ugh not again with those monkeys
  15. I dont know what the song they were singing was because I have it on mute haha....I assume we're seeing the same thing....thanks!
  16. On that topic....what ever happened to the Coldplaying asks Coldplay question from June?
  17. Are you seeing that one guy just finish singing and there were a bunch of guys in white suits surrounding him? Edit: Is there a girl singing now with a bunch of snowflakes?
  18. We probably need someone from the East Coast like Christa42 to say what time it is on there because that would be the "true" time.
  19. I'll be watching. The pre-show recap of the whole season starts in about 15 minutes. Then in 1hr 15 mins, the actual show will start. However, that is the way it is in my time zone (Mountain Time), so I could be an hour behind the actual show (Eastern/Central Time).
  20. An update on something I posted here a few months back... I'm listening to my Spotify playlist, and Life in Technicolor (from the album) just came on. It is now truly LiT and not LiTii in disguise!!
  21. Like seriously, has this person heard any songs that are not Fix You or on GS??
