Ok, that's good. But I felt bad because my new vote put your times at only one, so sorry about that... :/

Coldplaying Listening Party
Ok thanks, so that does mean it doesn't adjust for different timezones. Thanks for letting me know ! EDIT: Changed my vote for the poll accordingly. (sorry @Magic_2000... by the way, to answer your question, I don't think Doodle adjusts the timezones)

Coldplaying Listening Party
Ok. But I know you live in a way different time zone then me so I'd assume that for you it would all show June 18, correct? On mine it says all June 17 which I'd assume would be July 7 for me? Or does June 17 still mean July 8? To be honest I'm not too sure about the time zone thing. I guess the best way to ask you about this is, when you pop it up does it say mostly June 17 and end with June 18? Cause with that means the time would be innacurate here.

If you could change anything on Coldplaying.com, what would you change
Not an official answer, but my guess would be no considering semi-recently Coldplaying switched the provider or system or whatever from vBulletin (I think it was called) to Xenforo because it was outdated. And I also don't see any kind of old look in the styles menu so I'm afraid you're probably out of luck. (again, not an official answer) EDIT: Maybe there is actually. From what I remember, I didn't see anything relating to an old style, and it would be hard to do with Xenforo anyway, some features would be missing probably. I don't even see a style picker in the newest Coldplaying style update for KEP (which is why I'm editing this post) so I'm not sure.... Still my guess would be no though, sorry

Kaleidoscope EP
Whaaaaaaaaat Speaking of that song, and the conversation about underlying tracks in MX songs, have any of you checked the multitracks for ETIAW? If you haven't, I highly recommend getting it and listening to the one named "song". More details over on the "I am currently listening to..." thread. --------------------- Thoughts on the official information we have so far regarding KEP: Tracklisting: 1. All I Can Think About Is You - Personally wouldn't put this as the opener but the song is great! 2. Miracles (Someone Special) Coldplay & Big Sean - [spoiler=Warning: Massive Rant Incoming!]Ohhhhhhhhhh no. No no no. I feared the worst, and it's happening. I don't get how Coldplay are still interested in making unique, artistic, and creative masterpieces like AICTAIY (and have in their "pop" era such as Moving to Mars, All Your Friends, Ghost Story, Atlas, etc.) and also are somehow interested in working with pop acts like Rihanna and Beyonce. You know, I don't even mind artists like those who make catchy music, sometimes with a great melody. You simply don't get that from modern day rappers like Big Sean who rely on mumbling (and somehow still sing bad enough to need autotune... by the way, that thing doesn't work if you actually try to sing on key), and make songs with absolutely zero melody and a fake plastic sounding electro beat that anyone can think of, with lyrics anyone over the age of 13 can come up with, with ease. Still skeptical of my opinion? Get a load of this: [spoiler=Bounce Back] At least all of the other collabs Coldplay have done so far feature melodic and catchy artists. Even The Chainsmokers, as repetitive, bland, and generic as their music is (admitting this despite how much I like them anyways), doesn't come nowhere near as close as terrible to modern day hip hop artists. And by the way, it's not that I dislike hip hop music. A lot of it before the mid to late 2000's is actually pretty good. Most were catchy songs with a supporting melody, a good beat, and in certain instances lyrics that actually told a story (more apparent in hip hop music before right around 2000 rolled around). This song I've posted is amongst the most annoying and unlistenable tracks I've ever heard. For Coldplay to collab with Big Sean.... it just boggles my mind. Hopefully this isn't a sign they're going to go trap the next album, and if they do I'm out. (But I honestly think the other band members won't let that happen... :D) Best thing that could happen is, Coldplay's influence still makes this song listenable and Big Sean is positively influnced by this collaboration, possibly leading him to break this awful no-melody mediocre-beat and lyrics bleh that is the genre right now, and maybe he can bring back songs like "Changes" (my fav hip hop song ever) with atmospherics, a beautiful melody, and a real story along with a strong beat that forms a really good hip hop song. /rant 3. A L I E N S - Really cool title. Excited for this one. Wonder if it'll include the beat we heard in that one soundcheck a long time ago... Excited to hear that Eno wrote A L I E N S and is co producing it. This one's definitely gonna be good! 4. Something Just Like This (Tokyo Remix) Coldplay & The Chainsmokers - Still have yet to listen to it. Sounds interesting though. (I know that it's really just the live version of the song from Tokyo, but still... Hopefully it's a step up from the normal version, which I still really enjoy.) 5. Hypnotised - One of Coldplay's best songs, and greatest of all time. It's a new classic. Perfect closer for an EP like this. Date - Just in time for when I leave for vacation. Sucks that it got delayed yet again, and June 2 to July 14 is actually a really long time, but hopefully this time allowed for the other songs to be even better. Although, if this happened only to let that other collab happen, I am extremely disappointed (unless it'll change hip hop music for the better vastly, and bring back it's glory days.) Note: I heard that Hypnotised is supposedly the "EP mix" of it. Wonder if it'll sound any different then the version we know now...

If you could change anything on Coldplaying.com, what would you change
Isn't necessarily related to the design update, but I've noticed the searching on this site could be better. For example, I was looking for the thread "I am currently listening to..." today, and I found the thread with that title on page 4. That was after clicking the "Titles only" box after searching without it once. Not flaming or anything lol, just a request and a suggestion to hopefully improve it sometime in the future.

I am currently listening to....
Can't see why so many people dislike this song. Sure, it's very electronic and poppy, but it's also rather melancholic if you think about it. I know some would say in response that the production overpowers it, but I'm still surprised that I see such a widespread distaste for it... Oh well, we all have our opinions :)

Y'all should check out the ETIAW multitracks, and in particular the one named "song". It's an awesome surprise and you'll really appreciate it. So for those of you who want it kept a surprise, don't click "Spoiler". [spoiler=Details]It sounds like an entirely different version of the song, under the song itself! For any of you who want a much less poppy version of the song, here it is. It consists of some light synths, is driven by acoustic guitar, and has an electric guitar here and there. It's very stripped down, yet happy, and might have sounded similar to what Coldplay were envisioning for the "acoustic" LP5 that (for the most part) we never heard.

All I Can Think About Is You
Thoughts after the first listen: The teases we were getting leading up to AHFOD hinted at the possibility of the band developing a completely new sound, pushing their boundaries in every way we could have imagined. On the release day of AOAL, though, those thoughts were demolished for a lot of people. Beyonce and Tove Lo collaborations were announced to be included on the album, and the lead single, to some, sounded like a poor attempt to recapture Mylo Xyloto's sound that ended up landing in the "generic", "bland", "poppy", and "lame" categories, among others. (Note: Not my opinion!) These new thoughts were unfortunately confirmed on December 4th, and for a lot of people on the forum, they got a far poppier and watered down experience than they thought they'd hear a few months back. Ever since (and ever since Mylo really), these people have been wishing for Coldplay to either return to their traditional melancholic piano-rock sound, or go even farther and explore diverse soundscapes as they once did with Viva. When rumous of a collab with The Chainsmokers came about, many thought it was over for the band. Seemingly having turned into commercial sell-outs a long time ago, this appeared to be the final nail in the coffin for a band once crafting gorgeous, original, and unique music that came straight from the heart. To my surprise, a fair amount of people actually praised the song once it came out, despite some understandable backlash amongst it. It all changed though, with the release of Hypnotised. A turnaround for the band, many people who had once seemed to turn their backs for good on these boys gathered hope upon listening to this track. Is it possible that these guys could turn this around for good? Will they leave silly pop music behind in favor of a far more challenging and unique direction? Could this EP change it all? And here we are. All I Can Think About Is You is potentially Coldplay's most unique song yet, delivering the soundscape so many have been longing for, for years. It's hard to think of another song like this, with a fuzzy, cloudy, dreamy, and dense production style featuring a repetitve, hypnotic bassline, a dreamy and swirling piano, vocal, and synth track, and a minimalist guitar where you can hear Jonny actually play the instrument, fitting in well with the calm and soothing atmospherics of everything else. The drum track is nothing special in the beginning, with Will providing a simple beat to go along with the song. However, he kills it in the last part of the song, with every instrument rising to a peak, making for a very energetic release that generates a sense of epic doom. This follows an Atlas-style buildup including a very unique progression with a doomful feel, led by the piano and accompanied with string synths. Drums appear in the second part, and specifically the hi-hat, which gradually gets louder and opens up, resulting in a building of energy. Guitar is also present here. Overall, this is a track that will delight many fans who opine that Coldplay has gone downhill the past few years, and rate Viva la Vida as their favorite album due to it's daringness to present to the world fresh, original, and unique songs, incorporating diverse influences from long ago while also attempting to form an entirely new style. Coldplay purists that like the first few albums for their melancholic feel, not caring for the fourth one as much won't be as pleased, but might still find the track a breath of fresh air, and a sign that Coldplay's days of making decent music aren't over. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After a few listens, the track has already grown on me. I like how the intro isn't really happy, or sad, or anything. It isn't something you hear often. The buildup is ingenious, and despite the drums not being nearly as loud as I'd like it in the last part of the song, it's still great. This song's production is aboslutely fantastic, and I hope that everyone can at least acknowledge that this is a very large step up from the Stargate days. To be honest, it's probably one of the most unique production jobs I've ever heard. There's barely anything out there, at least to my knowledge, that sounds particularly like this. Everything sounds so fuzzy and cloudy, and there's hardly anything clear here, which I am very used to. I am accepting of this new style however, and I hope that Coldplay takes this sound and develops it for their next release. I'm sure a lot of us would die to hear a full album of songs centering around this sort of sound. Now for the problems with this. The beat in the beginning could be better. Will does make up for it in the last part but those drums are buried way too low in the mix. I might make an alternate version where the last part is replaced with the live version, but the swirling kinds of sounds here aren't present there, so I might also find some other way to do it. Either way, that's probably the worst thing here. Lyrics are rather lacking in parts to the point where I cringe. Hey, at least they're not some dumb pop lyrics about some party or relationship, Anyway, that's about it. I'm sure this song will grow on me over time, and I greatly applaud Coldplay for turning themselves around, and redeeming themselves with this after AHFOD artistically. It's really why I can appreciate music like this so much more than mainstream pop music, because although I might prefer a mainstream song more, I'll always look up to music like this because even though it might not sound "great" for some, it looks to create something new, fresh, and original, which is what the mainstream desperately needs after the development of a super generic pop sound since 2013 where the same synths and beats are used across just about every song, resulting in almost every song sounding like it comes from the same album. I'm not saying I don't like it, becasue I really do. It just doesn't hit that sweet spot for me. It is right somewhere around it... and music like this doesn't really have to hit that spot anyway. So: It isn't my favorite song, and I rate it lower than Hypnotised mostly because of Hypnotised's strong emotive senses, but it and this definitely take Coldplay a large step in the right direction.
