  1. Record company pressure? I doubt Will or Jonny want to dress up like kids TV presenters these days and are probably pressured to do so and talk up this album.
  2. So where do they go from here? Keep on churning out this saccharine rubbish or completely change direction? Im not sure they've got anything artistically left in them, a split might be the only option. I could see Chris Martin writing this same kind of music on a solo project as he seems to be really into it but as a band do they have anything left? I'm not sure.
  3. The mix is such a mess on AHFOD, you can barely hear any instruments, the sound is so crushed. Miss the days you could actually individually hear them :-(
  4. Ahhhh ok, yeah it's the poem although Obama singing is quite cringe also.
  5. Another baffling thing on AHFOD, the Obama speech. It's bizzare, out of place and almost creepy. It just makes no sense and sounds horrible. I can't think what they were thinking putting it in. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  6. Starin at darkness, staring at doom, you make me heart go boom boo boo boom.
  7. Most of the users on this forum (not this thread) love the Phantom Menace ;-)
  8. Doesn't matter, it's still a prime time for album sales, people will buy it as a gift. It's a well known time for an album release to sell. Why dyou think Adeles released so close to Christmas also?
  9. They released it just before Christmas, it's the ultimate cash grab selling time!!!! Well known in the music industry as a prime release time. That and March.
  10. Bit of a drop I think from GS which didn't even sell very well...... I don't think it will stick around in the charts either
  11. How is explaining how something isn't good putting salt into other fans who think it Is? B35 explains very, very well where he/she thinks they've gone wrong. They seem like a good poster I think.
  12. Didn't he say he'd been waiting 15 years to write AHFOD?
  13. Listen to the genius in this compared to the crap we get these days.... Sent from my Nexus 6P
  14. Great album, The Twisted Logic tour was also amazing. White Shadows is a great rocker too.
  15. In the grand scheme of songs Birds is fairly average. Not bad but not great, quite bland really. One of the better songs on the album.
  16. Birds most definitely isn't lyrically better than Yellow, in fact there's no comparison. Yellow is much, much better it's a simple beautiful love song.
  17. The band said you can't use "drinks on me" so he changed it to "drinks from me". I bet the rest of the band were delighted!!!!!!! LOL.
  18. Read the quote in here, it's embarrassing. http://drownedinsound.com/releases/19154/reviews/4149648
  19. There's nothing worse on an album than self indulgence, Oasis got rightly slated for it on Be Here Now. Anyway, There's an interview on the oldplayers forum where Chris talks about how the lyrics on Hymn For The Weekend came from buying drinks for everyone in a club, what the hell?! He's a 38 year old guy acting like a teenager it's absolute "facepalm" stuff and totally self indulgent and cringeworthy . He's changed beyond belief for the worse.

  21. It's one of the most ridiculous things I think CM has ever said.
