  1. Yes, the island of Malta in the Mediterranean.
  2. Hi there, Are there any maltese speakers on this forum? If so, I'd be most grateful if you could give me hand translating something and/or teaching me a couple of phrases. We've got a gig in Malta coming up. TIA, Wayne.
  3. Keep dreaming!! You don't even have anyone who can score goals!! Even MY team has that - Darren Bent, Bent, Bent!! :P oh yes we have - how about the man in the picture !! and, of course, Djibril Cisse - when Rafa decides to not bench him that is. He scored a peach of a volley last night to win us the game and won us the game at the weekend against blackburn. They won't win the Premiership anyway. only coz roman's bought it. we'll just have to go and win the champions league again :) Unfortunately it looks as though Chelski will win that, too!! :P nah, we'll beat 'em in the semis again ;)

We used to play Amsterdam and that bit you're on about, where the guitar comes in is superb - we always used to love that bit. we've not played it in a while though :(

These three along with In My Place always get the most singing from the crowd at our gigs. In fact, i'd recommend replacing Yellow with In My Place as I reckon that gets more. Clocks always gets a massive reponse too. Fix You is currently the best received song and the one that everyone is asking for. I'd also recommend The Scientist as a dead cert if your main priority is sing-a-long, with the third song being a choice of In My Place, Clocks or Yellow. Clocks is one of my faves to play so i'd learn that one if i was you.
  10. alright lloyd ! fellow drummer here. i play a lot of Coldplay too, mainly coz i have the pleasure of playing in a Coldplay tribute band :) You're right about some of them being easy (fix you, yellow, scientist, gpasuyf, politik etc) and agree re: shiver being one of the more challenging ones too. i've found talk needs a lot of concentration too, probably coz i'm just learning it at the mo though. my faves to play are clocks, speed of sound and politik. shiver is good as well though, a great song and plenty of good rhythms and sections to play. do you play in a band at all ? atb wayne

The guitarist in our band has got one and they sound amazing. I'd strongly recommend getting one.
  12. glad you like it ! we're hoping to do speed of sound sometime soon and also hoping to get enough spare time in the studio to rattle off politik. nice one bohs man, glad you like it and thanks for your positive words. you keep up your good work too. i've enjoyed listening to your stuff. i wondered how long it'd take someone to comment on that ! lol. When i was learning the beat i used to put the open hi-hat in the wrong place but eventually got round to getting it in the right place. during recorded i laxed back into the old way but no-one noticed - they all said that take that we kept (and the one you hear) was spot on. only during the next recording session did we notice the open hi-hat in the wrong place and it was too late to change it. suffice to say, the ass-holes still give me stick about it despite them ok'ing the take and i'm gonna be forever pissed off that i've committed the wrong pattern to CD when i know the right pattern perfectly well. thanks to everyone whose taken the time to listen to our recording and thanks for posting your positive replies - cheers !
  13. Square One - Coldplay (of course !) 3am Eternal - The KLf When I'm 64 - The Beatles NM156 - Queensryche 5150 - Van Halen OU812 - Van Halen 55278037732581 - Aphex Twin
  14. drums ! imho, the best instrument to play :)
  15. Hi everyone ! It's been a while since I've posted here. I can still see some familair peeps and there's plenty of new ones. To be honest, I've just been dead busy and just popped in from time to time to see what's going on. I read glarbinator's thread on posting recordings of songs a few days ago and seeing as we were recording Square One at the time I thought I'd put it up when we finished it. So here it is :- http://www.coldplace.co.uk/audio.htm I'll come clean and confess it was done in a recording studio so the mix is a teeny bit better than the home recordings that have been posted on here ;) , but I love Coldplay's music so I really enjoyed listening to other people's recordings of their songs - glarbinator, bohs man, ren (i really like you're in my place ren, i play it often - the delay's great :) . Keep it up !!!
  16. I love 'em. Think they're really unique. The vocalist has got a great style. My fave has got to be Suggestions. Fantastic song
  17. wayne replied to racheld's topic in Coldplay
nowhere near their worst song !! I think it's great !!
  18. It's one of my faves on the album too, along with A Message
  19. No way, she's too big chested!!!!!!!! you must be jesting surely !?! :P who cares !!
  20. Had to vote for the babe at the top of the list - Alicia Silversone !! she's by faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrr the sexiest on that list
  21. hey there ! i play drums too, in fact i'm a drummer in a Coldplay tribute band ! Taking lessons is a good idea coz it'll teach the rudiments and proper technique and although at the time it's a drag and doesn't seem like you're learning anything decent, if you stick with them you'll be well glad a couple of years down the line ! Keep it up coz drums is the most fun instrument to play.
  22. My all time favourtie piece of music is Belfast by Orbital. It is perfection
  23. Not only the best zep song, but possibly the best ever heavy blues/rock song ever made. 1. Since I've Been Loving You 2. The Rain Song 3. Babe I'm Gonna Leave You 4. What Is And What Should Never Be 5. Tangerine 6. No Quarter
  24. i'm a drummer too and i find i struggle with the piano too - i reckon it's cause on drums you use your right hand as the metronome, keeping the beat whereas on piano the left hand seems to do that job more - i find it the wrong way round - my left hand wants to do the melody not my right
