The Beatles
i do and i bet i'm not the only one. yes, you are childish. you might not like them but calling them cunts or saying they dont deserve to be called a band is different. now thats just silly.

Mac or PC

If you could have been born anywhere...
i lived in a small village in the switzerland most of my life and i never liked living there. you dont have many options here, almost everybody leaves to find a job. but the thing i really dislike about it is the fact that everyone knows each other which could be a good thing. but it isnt where i live. there are so many people who are bored and all they do in their spare time is talk about each other. people invent rumours all the time, even if they dont know you at all. my parents work in the village therefore people i've never known talked about our family which is incredibly annoying. i always wanted to go to england and i spent my holidays in london when i was like 13. i decided that i wanted to go to england as an exchange student when i was about 15 but my parents didnt let me go. however i finished school in summer last year and i decided to work in england for sometime. i didnt really know where to go but i knew i wanted to go to a city and i couldnt imagine living in london i thought the city was way too big. i imagined living there would be a bit of a culture shock and i also knew a girl who went there as an au pair and hardly got to know anyone apart from foreign students she met at language school. we had an english assisant at our school and i asked him what he'd recommend me to do to find a job while i'm still home and i also asked him where he'd go. he said manchester was the place to go which isnt really a suprise because he was a manc. i just looked up things about differents places in the internet and i applied in different towns, most of them were in the the north. i hoped i could either go to liverepool, manchester or leeds but i had to wait and see what options i had. i eventually got a job in liverpool and i was really happy so i went there. theres lots of aspects i like about the city. first of all people are very friendly. most people i met were really open-minded [unless where i'm from] and it made friends really quickly. i also like the fact that you'll meet people from all over the world. the city is great for shopping and i also like its nightlife. there are lots of nice bars and pubs and also a few decent clubs. people tend to go out a lot often during the week as well. one thing that i really like about liverpool or maybe its england in general that theres a lot of live music in pubs and theres several decent local bands. liverpool's close to the sea, it doesnt take you long if you wanna go to the beach. theres also two parks which are very nice especially in summer. it doesnt take you long if you wanna go to other cities like chester, manchester or birmingham either. the city isnt as big as london, people seem friendlier and less stressed still its quite a big city and its cheaper to live there as well. i worte quite a lot and i could go on. i really miss this place.

ARI....Bea!
cool! yeah i see. well i my boyfriend said that its quite dangerous so my parents's reaction didnt really surprise. i guess we live in very rich countries compared to most parts of the world. jamaica looks like such a lovely place and i really wanna go there. the beaches must be so lovely. the food is great, well what i've tried when i lived in the uk. you dont get that over here at all, probably because hardly any people from the west indies live in switzerland. i guess its the same in spain. of curse i'll let you know if i'm going. i'd love to go soon but i first need quite a lot of money to move out. but hopefully next year. would be great if you could recommend me some places to go! hi  i'm ok, theres still lots of things to decide and i guess i need a new job before i move out. i applied at some shop and i gotta see what happens. too bad he's already got a girlfriend.:embarassed: are you still in contact with him? hi joyce! dont think i've spoken to you before. anyway nice to see you on here.

ARI....Bea!
thats sad indeed. i heard that theres a lot of violence and crime. is it mainly because of poverty? :\ you're probably a lot more likely to get robbed as a tourist but you'll hopefully be ok if you know which places to avoid. i understand that my parents dont want me to go though. have you been there?
-
ARI....Bea!
yes, he does. i dont think i'd have many problems. well not more than elsewhere. i understand that. but dont organisers have to say that you're doing sth as well. they would never have accepted it if we had just planned to party. we had to go to museums and at least pretend we were going to amsterdam because we found the place was historically interesting. we ususally visited a museum in the morning and could do whatever we liked in the afternoon. a mix of both is good for everyone i guess. i see. i always wanted to go travelling but we never really did as a family so i hope i can do it when i'm a bit older. cant afford it at the moment.

A thread for the hottie Nigel!!!
so true, really weird when i think about. i still havent got a clue where i'm gonna be in september. no, not even in which country.
-
ARI....Bea!
sounds interesting... never heard about that. well he hasnt warened me, he just told me lots of things about it and that was one of the things he said. he doesnt know the country that well because he's never lived there. oh well but that isnt much of a problem because you dont have to be together as a class all the time, do you? so true, i wish we could have done that more often but it was way too expsensive. i'd love to go travelling and see more places anyway, i'ver never been outside europe.
-
ARI....Bea!
typical, theres people like that everywhere. i see, i guess thered be interesting historical places too if you had to go to ny or sth though. but i understand that you dont wanna go there. i know.. he's half-jamaican and he told me quite a lot about it. still i absolutely wanna go there. its a good idea to go to a place where you get both so everyone can choose what they wanna do. but whereever you go i'm sure theres a lot more to do than just lying around.

ARI....Bea!
i dont knoe those places but i generally prefer smaller cities! hi daryl!

ARI....Bea!
that really sucked. i remember we got the results of our school leaving exams and we went to a pub afterwards to watch of match [thaz was during the world cup] and they were like we're gonna call yous. and they just didnt. we were all a bit disappointed... oh i see. i'm not particularly interested in museums and them things to be honest buit i dont party 24/7 either. as i said north america doesnt appeal to me but the caribbean is lovely. my boyfriend's been to jamaica twice and he showed me lots of pictures and it just looks like the lovliest place in the world. hes going this year and i'd love to come with him but i doubt i'll be able to go for financial reasons. and my parents wanna forbid me to go because they think its too dangerous. but i'm definitely going some day! the czech republic's nice, i've been to prague four or five years ago. its a very nice city. lovely building and that. the food isnt nice though. but people are really nice and its a very cheap place too.

ARI....Bea!
true haha. i thought amsterdam was nice, wasn t my first choice either but it was lovely when i was there. it might be a big city but it just doesnt feel like one when you're there. no, i've never been to the usa. i know theres nice places like everywhere but the country just doesnt appeal to me. i know its mainly because of pejudice but i dont think i'd like cities like new york or los angeles. bye, see ya!

ARI....Bea!
hi ari and nina! how are you doing? thats always hard to decide in class. i remember when we went on a class trip [just to some place in europe but still] there was no way we could agree. we still went because it wasnt voluntary so my teacher just decided that we had to vote and go to the place that gets most votes. we went to amsterdam. when we had to decide on our own we ended up going nowhere. i was rally disappointed at the time because there were two girl who said they were gonna organise a trip and whoever wants to come can come with them and everyone else doesnt have to. but they eventually went on a trip themselves, just them and two other girls and didnt tell anyone else. oh well. :dozey: if i could go anywhere i'd love to go to jamaica or generally somewhere in the caribbean. however australia sounds like a good suggestion, i personally wouldnt wanna go to the usa to be honest. or maybe i'd go to some african country or somewhere in south america, i just dont understand why everyone wants to go to the us. but i'm sure there'd be places in the usa i liked. going to the beach in california sounds nice! oh and good luck with your exams nina!
