EURO ticket sales from Thursday
Ticket sales for UEFA EURO 2008™ will commence through www.euro2008.com on Thursday. The application phase for tickets for the eagerly-awaited final round in Austria and Switzerland next summer will end on 31 March. Thursday press conference Applicants may apply for one match per day and for a maximum of four tickets per match. A press conference will take place in Basle, Switzerland on Thursday to explain the various facets of the ticketing process. Random lottery If there is more demand than tickets available, a lottery will determine the successful applications. If there are still tickets available afterwards, these tickets will be offered on a first come, first served basis at a later stage, again through www.euro2008.com. Ticket prices Ticket prices will be announced at the start of ticket sales, and the UEFA EURO 2008™ organisers are keeping prices at levels that guarantee that regular football fans will be able to attend the games in Austria and Switzerland. The tournament kicks off on 7 June 2008, with the final at Vienna's Ernst-Happel-Stadion on 29 June 2008. Eight venues - Innsbruck, Klagenfurt, Salzburg and Vienna (Austria) and Basle, Berne, Geneva and Zurich (Switzerland) will stage final-round matches. Time not an issue Fans are reminded that it will make no difference whether they register on Thursday, or later in the month of March. Each correctly submitted and accepted application will have the same chance of obtaining tickets as a result of the lottery. Official ticket sales The products being offered by other companies, or on other platforms, are not part of, or related to, the official ticket sales programme of UEFA EURO 2008™ - Euro 2008 SA has not appointed any company to be its agent for the sale of match tickets. Supporters are strongly recommended not to buy tickets through these channels. Updated information on official ticket sales can only be accessed via euro2008.com. Overall number The overall number of tickets available for the EURO final tournament will be around one million. Around 75 per cent of the tickets will be available directly for the fans through this website or through the national associations that take part in the finals. Supporters are advised to contact their relevant national association for tickets for qualifying competition games, which continue until later this year. ©uefa.com 1998-2007. The official "UEFA Champions League 2006-2007" thread
Lille appeal Uefa goal decision Lille have appealed against Uefa's decision to turn down their protest about Ryan Giggs' goal last week. Manchester United secured a 1-0 win in France in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League last 16 encounter courtesy of Giggs' controversial free-kick. Claude Puel's players were unhappy that the winger had taken the set-piece quickly and protested to Uefa about the validity of the goal. On Friday, European football's governing body rejected Lille's protest, issuing a statement to clarify their reasons. "Having examined the official referee's report, the television evidence at hand as well as the Laws of the Game, the Uefa Control and Disciplinary Body decided to reject the protest, as there was no proof of a technical error," read the statement. "As a result, the body declared that the goal was perfectly valid." But Lille were shocked by Uefa's decision and have now lodged an appeal ahead of the deadline later on Monday. Uefa confirmed Lille's appeal and its Appeals Body will consider the matter on Friday. Lille president Michel Seydoux has outlined why he feels the club have no option but to launch an appeal. Seydoux told Reuters: "Those who have watched the match know why we are appealing the decision. "This case must be examined thoroughly and Uefa have to do it. It must be known that the referee influenced the outcome of this game. We had to appeal for moral reasons. "It is necessary to go all the way in this case and we will go all the way. Our cause is not the cause of Lille against another club or against Uefa, it is a battle by Lille...for all the other clubs, to make sure this never happens again."

Funniest carling cup final
Clubs appeal final red cards Arsenal and Chelsea have appealed against the red cards shown to Emmanuel Adebayor and John Obi Mikel. The duo, along with Kolo Toure, were sent off during the closing stages of Chelsea's 2-1 Carling Cup final win over Arsenal on Sunday. Chelsea substitute Mikel was dismissed for tangling with Toure, after his tug on the Arsenal defender had sparked an ugly brawl. Players from both teams waded in before order was restored, with Adebayor sent off for his involvement in the fracas. The Togo striker then refused to leave the field, protesting that referee Howard Webb had red-carded the wrong player. Television replays later suggested that Emmanuel Eboue clipped Wayne Bridge, although it is unclear whether this incident prompted Adebayor's dismissal in any event. However, the two London clubs have now lodged appeals against the red cards and their cases will be heard by The FA's Disciplinary Commission on Tuesday. Mikel has subsequently apologised for his sending off, while Adebayor has maintained his innocence over the brawl which overshadowed the Millennium Stadium showpiece.

"He must've photoshopped your picture!"
i totally understand what you're saying. family member can affect your self confidence a lot if they constantly tell you certain things. you dont even realise it at first but it often does affect your behaviour a lot. i've been told those things for years.but it somehow changed when i got older and realised that other people see it differently. i know it would be good if i lost a little weight but nobody's perfect and its ridiculous because the person who is telling me that stuff is actually overweight. i'm just trying to ignore it. try to speak with your family if you get on... if you think theres a point of talking do it. maybe they just dont realise how you feel about their jokes. however my family's 'special'. i know this family member isnt joking at all. but i know that i could do anything in the world and he wouldnt appreciate it, so it just doesnt affect me no more!
