Just a normal night out in town really. Drinks in ours, went to two bars and ended up in a club.
  5. Happy Birthday!! Hope you have a good one.

I had an awesome night last night! Saturday nights in town are way too expensive compared to other nights though.
  7. There is no religion which says people should walk around. Besides being naked and covering up your body really can't be compared.
  8. Erm no this is about people's beliefs. I know you could argue the same about Nazis but I am sure you are perfectly aware why their beliefs and values not acceptable.
  9. Mark, you didn't just compare the burkha to a Nazi uniform, did you? The difference with those kind of uniforms is that they show that you belong to a organisation which clearly DOES harm to people.
  10. People are not forced to cover up if they live in Europe. Their family might want them to but its their own choice at the end of the day. Pai said she that KNOWS people who chose to wear a burkha. I doubt you do. Nor do I but I can see that such a law would affect people a lot. Your point about anarchy doesn't make sense at all. You are talking about CLOTHING. Women who wear a burkha don't do no harm to anyone. Also how often do you actually see women who wear them? I don't think I've ever seen anyone wearing one around Liverpool. I'm aware that you might see them more in certain areas of London or Birmingham but you are talking about a small minority.
  11. Grace you should go shopping in England. It's so much easier to find nice clothes over here! I think German/ Swiss people care more about practicality than fashion generally speaking. I saw a few girls who wore really nice dresses when I was in Switzerland but their shoes totally spoilt their outfit.:embarassed: I imagine France is great too though. I can't wait to go to Paris!
  12. According to the Los Angeles Times he's in a comma.
  13. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/8119951.stm :( WTF??
  14. Not necessarily. I don't know anyone who wears a burkha but I know two young women who chose to wear a headscarf. Neither of them is married. True. It's a matter of opinion what 'self-respecting' means. I'm not saying I like the idea of a burkha but I think it's quite arrogant to think you do those women a favour if you ban the burkha. I basically agree with what tracylynn said on the subject.
  15. Because THEY believe it's the right thing to do. It might be hard for us to understand why somebody would want to wear it but who are we to say they shouldn't? They'd probably say similar things about the way European women dress.
  16. Correct me if I'm wrong but I imagine there are different ways of interpreting the Koran. Tradition might be an important factor too which would explain why very few Turkish women wear a burkha. Either way, it doesn't explain why it should be banned.
  17. I prefer gold.
  18. No, I couldn't. Not if it's a story about an ACTUAL event.
  19. No, it isn't. It's a very biased one. The one about Britain isn't even 'news'.
  20. This thread is not about Nathan. He tried to take part in the discussion and there was absolutely no need to bring up the whole banning issue. Don't you realise that it isn't possible to discuss with people if you constantly ignore their points? Btw Rudy, I didn't mean you.
  21. Why did you ignore my post?
  22. Mark, I just don't understand how you can believe every single thing you read in the Daily Mail. You live in a foreign country yourself so I assume you know what it's like to be an immigrant. How do you feel about German newspapers which promote similar ideas?
  23. It might be depending on how they wear it. You certainly wouldn't be able to recognise a person easily.
