What about people who wear a hat and a scarf? Does this raise suspicion too?

There isn't. They suggest that there's 'no need' to to wear it because Britain's a fairly cold country anyway. Seriously who cares? No one complains about people wearing little clothing in winter either. It's not threatening in any way unless you believe that everyone who wears a burkha must be a terrorist. But anyone who believes that seriously needs help.

How are they socially unacceptable? Does it affect you in any way if someone chooses to wear a burkha? You criticise the fact that the law in some Islamic countries forces people to dress in a certain way yet you suggest that Western countries should do the same.

I often end up watching it without sound while listening to the radio which is a few minutes ahead. Not good. I need to find some better websites.

^ I might have to move to Manchester if I take the job, bad times! Seriously though, which areas would you recommend and which ones should I try to avoid. I'd like to live fairly central and I can't afford to live anywhere expensive.

I saw the nicest dress EVER today. I wish I could show you a picture but I can't find one. It's white with pink roses and just gorgeous. I was so tempted to buy it. I think I might go back on Thursday to get it. I really need to stop going into town with my friends. We always end up spending loads and most of us don't even have a summer job.:embarassed:

I think I'll miss the people more than the place to be honest. Pretty much all of my friends are from the area or study here. I wouldn't be moving far away but the thought of moving somewhere where you don't know anyone is kind of scary. It would be much easier for me if I could move there with my boyfriend but it all depends on whether he'll be able to find a job. Hi Ari!

Summer break? Same here. No luck with summer jobs so far... Thanks. I'm not sure what to do as I might have to leave Liverpool if I take it.:(

Live streams are not as good as Sky's/ Setenta's coverage though. They're usually a few minutes behind and you don't always find one with an English commentary.

As Dave said FEWER people voted for the BNP than in the previous elections. They're not politically confused. They might be ignorant but surely they must agree with some of the party's ideas.

Whats your point? Everyone who voted BNP is racist. The fact that they might have voted for one of the major parties in the past does not change this.

I know what you mean. It's akward to feel overdressed too though. I had to go to some course in Switzerland and everyone else was wearing jeans and trainers. I even got asked whether 'I was going anywhere later'. :embarassed: On another note I went shopping there and I couldn't find anyting. It's strange because I used to like certain shops and I couldn't even find anything I wanted to try on. You still see a lot of girls wearing fake tan. A lot of them don't look healthy at all. They actually look ORANGE.

I find it even worse if people put 'I love you [insert boyfriend's/ girlfriend's name]' in their status all the time/ at the end of every status.

I think the problem is that many people stop caring if they gain a little bit of weight if they're already very overweight. I actually worked in a fast food place for a little while and we got three food on every eight hour shift. One of my workmates was very overweight and she seemed to be quite self conscious about yet she ate there whenever she could and sometimes even had a second meal after work. She actually told me that she thought it was strange that I preferred to take packed lunches to work.

I love Vodka. Vodka Red Bull's probably my favourite alcoholic drink. Apart from cocktails that is.
