  1. Hello! How's everyone doing?
  2. It's a disappointing start that's for sure but it's far to early to make any predictions. Chelsea and Man United didn't exactly play the strongest teams and neither side looked convincing. Anyway Aquilani'd better be a good signing.
  3. I would never say 'lol/lawl/...' and I don't think I've ever heard anyone saying it.
  4. I obviously don't know your workmates but don't you think some of them might just be shy? Just because you don't feel comfortable talking to a bunch of people you don't know doesn't mean you're antisocial.
  5. The insurance does not pay bills in full as I just tried to explain. First of all this would mean that the poor don't get the same quality of healthcare. Don't you think that's wrong? I know this also happens in the UK or Switzerland but to a lesser extent. Our system at least aims to achieve this. The American system doesn't seem to work as a lot of poor people end up with poor quality or no healthcare. Also insurances are private companies. It isn't in their interest to pay extremely high fees so they will usually have a list of doctors you will be able to see in your area.
  6. People live longer these days and the average woman has less children, so yes, this is an issue. Prices have increased put it certainly hasn't lead to a collapse of the system. As the government provides subsidies for those who can't afford the insurance costs, this doesn't affect people's lives as much as you might think. The insurance does pay for all health problems generally speaking but it's not as simple as that. The insured person chooses their premium. The insurance only pays if your health costs exceed a certain amount. If you choose to go for a low premium this amount will of course be higher. This system works well well as your costs are not usually gonna exceed the set amount if you only have to see a doctor once or twice a month. Accidents are a completely different matter and they are covered by its own insurance. As for the article I disagree with what it says about the UK. The NHS is by no means perfect but it is much better than the US system because everyone is able to get treatment. Illnesses aren't always self-inflicted. A lot of people lead a healthy lifestyle and get seriously ill nonetheless. Do you really that a system which leaves them without healthcare simply because they can't afford it is a good one?
  7. There's sales everywhere, I'd have a look in the shops if I was you.

I guess Mark would vote for the Conservatives.:)
  9. Petit Prince replied to Spoon's topic in The Lounge
I'd vote Lib Dem but I can't vote.
  10. It's quite a fair system as young people will end up paying for your healthcare once you reach a certain age. I can't see how anyone would not need a health insurance unless they are very rich. The fact that your age group is at low-risk is not gonna help you if you get seriously ill.:\ Oh and I'm 23 and I never really had any health problems.
  11. I don't think ESPN have the rights to show England games so Sky's probably your best bet. Check this out http://www.espn.co.uk/sports-on-espn/
  12. Thanks! I'm off to bed now. Good night!
  13. I kinda like them... in a weird way. I wouldn't have anything I could wear them with though.
  14. True! I only get to go there like twice a year though because they don't have any stores in the UK. I bought a belt there that I really like when I last went there which was around Christmas-time.
  15. I'm not feeling very well so I'm just trying to relax. I had my training and I'm starting next week. A game? Must have been a pre-season friendly then. The new season starts tomorrow!
  16. I love Zara. And H&M. I found so much nice stuff in H&M recently. I had an interview at Zara like 2 weeks ago. I didn't get the job tough because I didn't have any experience in retail so no discount for me.:( I used to like New Yorker but I'm starting to dislike it a lot. They've got so much emo stuff these days. Some of their jeans are alright though.
  17. I actually had a discussion about this earlier. I agree with Tonsu. I lived in a country with a private healthcare system and it worked perfectly fine. It was compulsory to have a health insurance and no one was left without treatment.
  18. I think it got closed down.
  19. Hi Ari How are you doing?
  20. What Ian said. You might have to get the news package as well depending on where you live because you don't necessarily get the SSN with your sports package.
  21. ^ You might wanna consider other British universities. Have you done some research about university fees? I think overseas students pay like twice as much as we do.:embarassed:
  22. You didn't just call someone you don't know a slut, did you? Or was this supposed to be funny? Well it wasn't.
  23. There's nothing wrong with this thread.
