I was wondering how you were doing, since I hadn't seen you post on here for awhile. I hope all is well, and it's great to see your post, my fellow X&Y fanatic :)

Oh my! How can one be a Coldplay hater?! It's beyond me (although I have been a Coldplay fan for more than long enough to understand that these people exist, haha). Everyone is entitled to their own musical tastes but, I'm not sure I could handle having a Coldplay-hating husband real well. Hugs to you. Hand that man a Love Button! :p:heart:

That is awesome that the first time you saw them was after having won tickets! A that's very cool that you've built up your collection of memorabilia. Same here--and lately I have been on a kick of buying necklaces with Coldplay song lyrics (also got a few for Christmas). Yesterday I ordered one that says "If you never try, you'll never know" which is one of my most favorite lyrics ever. Anyhow, back to the point of the thread--I love that @Shoeboxlady has a goal of traveling abroad to see them. My husband and I will hopefully see many shows during their next tour. He (my husband) bought me tickets for our AHFOD concert in Minneapolis, for my birthday. He had no plans of buying tickets for any other shows. This was simply a birthday gift for me, and he was happy to take me. But after going to the Minneapolis show, he was the one who brought up the fact that they would be in Omaha only 2 days later. This, coming from a guy who doesn't really care too much for music in general. He likes music but it has never been a central part of his life like myself. He happily bought us tickets for the Omaha show and we had, yet again, the time of our lives. This was totally not an ordinary thing for him to do--and it just shows how powerful Coldplay is. They can even mesmerize a person who has never been one to care much about music, so much that now he periodically asks me for Coldplay updates, is looking forward to LP8, and keeps making comments that he "has big plans for us" for the LP8 tour. Yet again, testament to how amazing the guys are, no matter the age, musical taste, etc. Whatever they come up with for LP8 will blow us all away, I'm sure of it.

LP8 Thread - Everyday Life
I am with @iamsue on this 100%! I am an Oldplayer, have been with them since Parachutes came out when I was 17. At 36 years old I am not necessarily young but hardly "too old" to go to their concerts. Because of several life circumstances I was only able to see them in person for the first time during the AHFOD tour (went to two shows). At this point in my life it's a lot easier to fork over $$$ for concerts than when I was younger and consistently short on cash for anything frivolous like concerts (like anyone in their 20s, coming out of college with debt and having just started my career). If anything, from a business-side of things, us Oldplayers are the ones more likely to have the cash to throw at all things Coldplay. Money aside, I believe that no one is too old to go have the time of their life at a Coldplay concert. Sure, they have the challenge of reaching out to the new/young audience, but I do believe that they know that there are people like myself who have loved them through their entire career and yearn for them to stay true to their roots at least to a degree.

I am with you completely. Oldplay age here too and I've always loved SJLT. I am not a big Chainsmokers fan but didn't mind the awesome song that came from this collab.

Los Unidades
I'm with you completely, @I ran away . I'm trying to like the songs on this EP....trying very hard...I just can't get there. This EP is just really really not for me. However, I am happy for those who are pleased with it and are enjoying listening! I also think that the purpose of the EP is very cool and I hope they do well with sales for the sake of those it benefits. In the meantime I'll just sit back, blast some Oldplay in my ears and hope for the best for album #8.

I was thinking about exactly this, this morning! Personally, I would :heart:LOVE:heart: an instrumental album. The instrumentals on the Prospekt's March EP especially, are absolutely beautiful. Not sure that it's a realistic move but I would sure love it!

Why Coldplay "don´t like" XY album?
You may be correct, that they are leaving out some of the details of the negative times. However, I wonder if it could be because they don't want to go into TOO much detail and have it change our perception of them (or an individual in particular)? They are all (er, Chris is, judging from what I gathered from the film) very different people now, maybe they just don't want to dwell on it too much? That said, though, it has always bothered me, too, that they look at X & Y so negatively. I completely disagree with when Chris said that the "only good thing to come out of X & Y were Fix You and Holmes." X & Y has always been my favorite full album, for a huge number of reasons. I would give my left foot to go back in time and go to a Twisted Logic show!!! I know and understand all the reasons why X & Y is a tough album for them to stomach because it was such a hard time but OMG I love that album, from beginning to end.

Good for you for being so brave and going back to ask for a poster! That is wonderful, and what a neat piece of memorabilia to take away from an exciting night! I am happy for you :)

I am so sorry @I ran away . I feel so badly for you and hope that you are not in the hospital for too terribly long. Thinking of you! I too won't be able to see it because the closest cinema to me that is showing the movie is over 2 hours away. Not possible for this mom of 3 on a school night, this particular week. We don't do amazon prime, either. I pre-ordered the Butterfly Package so I'll just try to stay away from any spoilers until I finally get to see it on Dec 8 (the day it's scheduled it arrive). The silver lining of that is, we will have a new large-screen TV by then and I am hoping that the movie is the first thing I get to watch on it! In the meantime, my Life in Technicolor book is supposedly out on the FedEx truck and about to be delivered :):):):):) Anyhow, I really hope that you are okay and I am thinking of you.

I agree with @I ran away , being disappointed about the lack of Amazing Day. But....this Butterfly Package sounds like it will be so amazing!!! Am I understanding right that part of the 2DVD/2CD set will be the movie? As in, the same movie that is coming to theaters Nov 14? If I am reading it right on the website and it is, that will be such an awesome package!!!- War of the Coldplay Songs

Aaaaah! So exciting! Just watching the trailer I am in complete aw! And all the activity here on Coldplaying is really fun :-) The thing that sucks is, I doubt it will come to a cinema near me. I live in Iowa and it's kind of considered Nowheresville, USA.....oftentimes, things that are released "worldwide" do not come anywhere in Iowa. I'd bet that the closest cinema to me will be Omaha, NE which would be a 2.5 hour drive and I can't pull that off on a Wednesday night. I know it said something about releasing on Amazon Prime Video but I am old-fashioned and would rather have a DVD (and we don't subscribe to Amazon Prime)....do you suppose they will release a DVD of it? If so, anyone have a prediction on how long it would take a DVD to come out? Either way, the documentary is going to be so amazing to watch!!!!!- Tea Time (K-ON) Video Thumbnails Elimination Game (Round 1)
I vote No. 1- Random Coldplay thoughts...
I too feel this way. It's interesting that you posted this because I was thinking this exact thing just a week ago, about the effect Coldplay's music has on me that no other music does. Any time in my adult life that I've felt sad, happy, emotional, totally awesome, at a truly low point....pretty much any emotion!...their music is THE music I turn to, to cope or celebrate or help me through a time when I feel completely hopeless. It may sound really cheesy to say this, but when I listen to their music I literally feel a deep emotional connection. When I finally got to see them live in 2017, the whole time they were playing it felt like they were literally pulling at my chest (like, in a good way). That feeling of being truly in love! I am truly deeply in love with their music. What prompted me to think this a week ago was when I saw Justin Timberlake in concert. It really was a fun show, and the man is simply delicious to look at and watch dance :). I was close enough that I was able to yell, 'I love you, Justin!' (yes, my husband was right there, but he was totally cool with it and just kept on eating his popcorn and laughed at me, haha!) and Justin found me, looked at me, and winked and waved! Anyway, as thrilling as this all was, I left the concert with a "Oh wow, what a totally awesome time!" feeling. Which was neat, but nothing like leaving the A Head Full of Dreams concerts. I left those feeling absolutely and deeply fulfilled, spiritually and emotionally, as if I had just literally spent two hours in the most wonderful possible place in the universe. I felt out-of-this-world happy, I laughed, I cried (a lot, just at the simple fact that I was finally getting to see them live, I was totally beside myself), I danced, I was amazed, etc..... It was a feeling like never before! I have been to see some amazing acts, like Madonna, Van Halen, Katy Perry, Janelle Monae, and several more, and they were all totally fun, but I have never experienced a feeling like seeing Coldplay. There is just something totally transfixing about their music. And this is the same with simply listening to music. Nothing makes me feel like Coldplay music does. And it's cool to hear that others feel the same! It's a beautiful thing  I have come to the conclusion that it might behoove me to just not attend any other concerts than Coldplay from now on. After seeing them, noooooooothing else compaaaaaaaaaaaaaares! :p - The Butterfly Package - AHFOD Live Album/Movie
